There hasn't been a Baton Rouge area player sign with a BCS level school since maybe Marcus Thornton.

Not that it makes a difference because I didnt think he was that good of a player, but who did Brian Williams from Glen Oaks sign with? I was looking on OSU roster and didnt see him listed.

Let's hope CT3 and GT have 12 sons apiece and they're all ballers.

TJ has told former LSU players and those affiliated with the program to take a hike. He does not need nor want their support. Straight from the mouth of a former starting basketball player under Dale less than a week ago.

yeah, i haven't heard any former players bash Trent. I'd like to know where Paulu got his sources. Everyone I talked to thinks he is a great coach.

Plain and simple, until CT gets his boy Johnnie Jones in here to coach, he will continue to steer players away, to get TJ fired......

Period............

Why didn't he push for Johnnie Jones to get the job when it was open 3 years ago then? Also please list the players he steered away?

It's pretty funny that some rantards have now turned Collis into the World Wide Wes of Louisiana.

While I appreciate CT as a player and him bringing his 2 sons and several others to LSU during Brady's time here, I don't appreciate the negative effect that his alleged inability to get along with Trent Johnson has hurt our program the past couple of years.

Agree? Disagree?

I don't know CT2 but I have some pretty strong feelings about him that may be unfounded but are mine nonetheless.

My take was always his "help" came with a price. I always perceived some sense of entitlement on his part.

While former players like Blanton or Macklin might say "how can I help" I always felt CT2's mindset was "this is what you need to do".

During the coaches search he set himself up as unofficial spokesperson for LSU and IMHO said some pretty outrageous things.

I think he used his sons connections with talented high school youth locally to set himself up as a player in the recruiting process that came with strings attached.

He took full credit for Trent's hire and shouted it from mountaintops, but when Trent wouldn't bend over for him sulked and turned.

I've heard of some shady business dealings involving CT2 around town that are shrouded in deceipt and entitlement. I have no links or smoking guns but some of them are public record.

I like both of his sons. They represented LSU well on and off the court and that can't be discounted.

But, to your point GG I don't know much he's hurt the program but I firmly believe the program has the potential to thrive with or without him.

Trent's got his own issues he's accountable for and I've held him accountable here many times. But I'll never fault him for not cow-towing to CT2.

That's why I qualified it Hitchcock. But, whether I'm wrong or right I firmly believe the success or failure of the LSU program does not depend Collis Temple Jr.

I know. I'm not unsmpathetic or immune. My family has not been immune. I certainly pray for he and his family on that account and don't see that as being hypocritical.

But cancer or any other illness does not place one above reproach.

If you admire Collis I don't begrudge that. I have my issues and IMHO they are not totally unfounded.
