Excellent interview. Having the chance to meet him and observe him in a crowd. He’s a very impressive individual

McMahon has been grinding since he got hired.

I think the most telling remark was when he said that he didn't believe in judging players by the number of stars they had by their name and that everyone had to prove their ability. I think given the number of talented players he has recruited and how desperate some of them are going to be to get playing time, those practices are going to be something else. It really wouldn't surprise me to see one or two fall by the wayside before the season even starts. But hopefully the rotation he does end up with will be committed to playing together and not just trying to impress pro scouts.

Great listen. Thanks for the link!
I think you can tell he is very happy with the high schoolers he was able to recruit. It sounds like they are going to play a significant role on this years team as well as future teams.
I'm so ready to see how this team comes together, and I am really starting to hope this years team has the opportunity to play in postseason play. With the release of Willy and the new rules the NCAA has moving forward I kinda just hope they don't try and make some kind of example of LSU.

Good post...enjoyed listening.
Barring a rash of injuries I think a finish in the upper half of the SEC and being an NCAA bubble team is reasonable.
I think this team will actually be a little deeper than last year.

I'm really looking forward watching Adam Miller and Williams play along with the rest of this team!

It was nice to hear at least something about LSU basketball in the summer, which is rare, considering the local media don't cover basketball much. The interview was kind of bland with regard to LSU. Mostly a lot of coach-speak. For me, the most interesting part was hearing his perspective as a coach of a great mid-major program turned HC of a power-conf. program discussing life at both in the one-free-transfer/NIL world. It is going to be really tough for the mid-major coaches because the days of finding a underrated player, developing him, and keeping him around for 2, 3, 4 years are probably over. The moment a guy like that proves himself at the mid-major level he is immediately recruited to a power school.
At the end of the day though, I don't really care how great or boring his interviews/press conferences are, as long as he wins. However, I will miss Wade's candidness in his interviews. He didn't just give you some broad, generic answer about a player. He 6 was foot in the weeds with his descriptions about everything. For a basketball nerd it was very interesting to hear

I think they will be picked in the preseason to finish 8th in the SEC, which would put them just outside the top 1/2. IMO, there doesn't look to be much separation between teams 5-8 (likely A&M, Alabama, Florida, LSU). So while I won't EXPECT LSU to finish in the top 1/2, I wouldn't be surprised at all if they do.
