the drop in the polls has more to do with us going 2-2 last week then the 2-1 series win. we just need to end up in the top 8. thats all that matters

I think this team is missing 1 starting pitcher and a clutch bat from winning it all this year. Pretty much a similar team from last year that will struggle when playing west coast teams in the World Series this year

We lost Katz, Rhymes, JaCoby and Ross and replaced them with Moore, Chinea, Hale and Scivicque. That is far from similar.

To be honest, I'm not sure that Cody Glenn is worse than last year. Glenn's a decent pitcher, and I think that he was the best third option we had.
Even when he was competing with Bonvillain, he didn't have overly impressive outings, but did enough to get the job. I think that Bouman has really shined however, and I'm kind of hoping that he'll be pitching on Sunday.

Anyone who says our starting pitching this year is worse than last year has lost their minds. Eades was an absolute joke. You replace him with Poche and Bouman. With their performances so far, that's a fricking win

He's starting Wednesday. CPM said he's in the race for the weekend job race with a good outing.

Any time table for return? Or is he done this year?
Posted on 3/3/14 at 7:27 pm to TIGERNATION031
I would expect he probably won't pitch this year.

What was our worry preseason, bullpen and catcher. In two losses this week, both proved costly.
I don't think we have a ? at Catcher anymore
Scivicque is a great hitter and enough of a defensive catcher to justify his spot at Catcher. We aren't going to shut down anyone's running game with any three of our guys behind the plate but I think Scivi gives a big offensive plus and has enough defense for him to start a Catcher instead of DH.

Our pitching is definitely better this year. BD better do WAY better than what I've seen so far for him just to sniff playing time. I guess we'll see Wednesday.
