I could see the conferences containing the most baseball programs in the red, (Big 10, PAC 12) voting against anything that costs them money in the current poor economic environment. I hope I am wrong for the players' sake.

That's what I was thinking, but with all spring sports, not just baseball. That's why my speculation was that it was the Big Ten and Pac 10, because they sponsor the most sports.

Aren't baseball and possibly softball the only spring sports that have players drafted? Could these two be treated differently than the others?

I'm fine with giving the high schoolers another year in high school too. -Gives us all a chance to recoup those 529 plan losses;-)
