FWIW I've heard the same thing about Laron from his former teammates. Im in the minority that believe it's not a big deal to do steroids. The MLB is trying to crackdown on steroids in its game but college (all sports) is where the epidemic is. Fans want bigger, faster, stronger and win at all cost and athletes want to get to the next level at all cost. It's a way of making the field even

Laron is a beast. Coleman may be able to compare to him eventually, but not right now. If you disagree, i hope laron comes and beats the shite out of you. Then see what you think.

Don't they test for roids in the league? I understand that if you roid up and then stop, it is suppose to deminish your gains and productivity. Your body suffers, etc. If that is the case, will he now turn into a bust? By the way, I love Harry the Hitman, but Landry rules(4 year starter)!

Ys it does.

Unfound claims.

Agreed. Btw he was gonna go to Miami hadnt LSU told him he could be a 4 year starter.

his steroid use began late in his career, when he was pushing 40 and his body was on a decline. He was still man enough to admit it though.

Romonoshki was probably doing that stuff for years. He was man enough to admit it because he got caught.

Again, claims. I can claim that you took steroids, right? He started taking it in his Raiders days.

you know it's hard to believe Laron only weighs 205 or 210, with how he has worked out at LSU over the years and how big he looks, you swear he was 220.

At the NFL combine he was around 230ish.

Where is everyone getting this 212?

I stand corrected:

He started in 48 of 52 appearances at LSU and recorded 315 tackles, including 16 tackles for losses, eight sacks, 12 interceptions, 28 passes defensed and 2 forced fumbles. He also had a blocked field goal and a blocked punt. At the combine, Landry measured 6-feet-¾ and 213 pounds, ideal size for the position. He was clocked in the 40-yard sprint at a blazing 4.35 seconds, a better time than turned in by all but four of the 42 wide receivers and all but two of the 28 cornerbacks during the Indianapolis workouts.

He makes me feel like a fat arse - I'm 6-0 and about 230 and don't look anywhere near that good lol.

"It is a big deal. It's unfair advantage."

10 or 15 years ago this would have been true, the fact of the matter is that now a days it's the norm and if you're good, you have to do it to get on the field and if you're great, you have to do it to separate yourself from college and prove you can be a good pro. Only the best of the best can get away without using some kind of substance.
As far as drug testing, we are way to naive on this one. School athletic departments only test on rec drugs. The NCAA is the only body to do steroid tests and it only picks a few randoms and athletes get a heads up on if they will be called or not. Athletes, I can promise you, are not scared of that.

The thing about steroids is that it doesnt automatically turn you into a hulk. there is diffent types and different plans of use that gain different results. One guy might be doing it to get enormous, the other guy is doing to recover from an injury quickly and you would never be able to notice his use with a naked eye. There are guys who use that you would never guess in a million years.

Again, people talking out of there asses. Russell weighed 202 his senior year at LSU. He weighed just around that at the combine. The scouts even said he had a good size for a safety, but he needed to put on an extra 10 pounds to survive the beatings of the NFL week in week out. Well, now he weighs 213.
I do appologize for saying he was 6'0", he's 6'1.5".

Don't make unfounded, slanderous claims about former Tiger greats. It's ludicrous, speculative, rumor mongering crap.

No fan base enjoys disparaging its own more than the self-loathing, inferiority complex ridden douches of LSU. Damn, it infuriates me.

1. Trying to fit as many big words as possible into one post, with the help of dictionary.com, isn't impressive to anyone on Tigerdroppings.

2. I have better information on the subject than you do, so stop being such a pussy and either nut up, or shut the frick up.

Laron Landry made his reputation hitting QBs and WRs. He has never made a hit as impressive as Coleman's shot on Tebow when Tebow was gunning for paydirt. Coleman completely stopped his forward momentum and knocked his arse sideways and out of bounds. That was Tebow going full speed right at him.

Sorry, but I always thought Laron was overrated as a hitter. He didn't make a habit of stopping RBs (with a full head of steam) in their tracks or sending them backwards.

He is great against pocket qbs and wrs though.
