That game ushered in the Rick Clausen era, though.

He went like 3-6 in extreme garbage time so Saban got hard and decided to start him next week against Ole Miss. He played worse than Stephen Hawking and Marcus Randall came in and saved the day.

1997 ND..very cold..very heavy dense air..rained too..LSU pulled a no-show physically and emotionally..almost as if Irish imported South Bend atmosphere to TS(very cold and quiet)..bad hot chocolate is the best part of the game..a few Irish fans in stands to witness a mild TS crowd that were taken out of game early..where ND manhandled LSU at LOS..but LSU gets it's Indy/Ugly Helmet revenge.

Ole miss 93 is my vote. A big cold front came in the night before. My feet almost froze off

Yep...we won 19-17. Ole Miss missed a FG late that would have won it. Tiger Stadium was MAYBE half full that night. That was the game before the "Pigs Fly" game at Alabama.

One that people forget...back in 1985 we played E. Carolina on December 7. I may be mistaken, but I think that was the latest game ever played in Tiger Stadium. It was nut-crunching cold that night too.

Mine too. A person earlier in the thread said it was in the low 40's. They must have been in the lower deck because I was in the upper and could swear it was in the 20's and raining/sleeting . Coldest I can remember!

Since you brought up the Independence Bowl, I will say I froze my arse off in Shreveport watching the mighty Saban coached Spartans get their butts kicked.

I was at that Utah game and I agree, that was the coldest I have ever been in Tiger Stadium. I think we stayed till the mid 4th quarter..When we got back to N.O., I was still cold.

Troy game temperature

Temperature: 50 deg Wind: NW 8-12 Weather: Clear, 45% humidity

It felt colder than it was because of the score. I warmed up when we actually started playing football.

this is the correct answer. bitterly cold. was it jay johnson or jermaine sharp that had a very good game that night?
although it was a day game, the season finale against arkansas was cold as well. these people that feel that the Troy game in '08 was cold, couldn't have made it through pregame at either of those '93 contests.
