Trust me. We will be ready. I'll make sure of it.

Home run centered offense leads to a strike out centered outs. They strike out a ton and haven't seen an arm like Lange and the way Poche has been going should make it all okay.

That's not that embarrassing considering that South Carolina was the national champion that year.

Absolutely not. Just showing that they're not a joke program or some one hit wonder.

Been to 14 of last 16 Regionals
Host team and #1 seed 3 times
Been to Super Regionals twice (0-2 both times)

Lost Supers in 2008 to UNC (who swept LSU 2-0 in the CWS too)
Lost Supers in 2010 to USC (who won the NC)

They're a considerably above-average program.

They apparently strikeout a lot too.

LSU has two guys with more than 28 K's - Fraley=31 and Deichmann=40. LSU has a total of 301 strikeouts.

Coastal has guys with 70, 56, 53, 41, 40, 38, 34, and 32. Their team total is 472.

He will be on 5 days rest come 8 Saturday night. He will be fine!

We have Lange and Poche. I like our chances! Yes they are good but come Saturday night they will have never seen an atmosphere like what they will see at the Box!

Consider the level of competition they played
rice was 4th in cusa and lsu had trouble putting them away. i don't think there's any question ccu is a better team.

All I know is that the guys on here that follow baseball said coastal Carolina would win that regional. I am sure they are capable of beating us and should be treated with respect. I expect a good series.

I think they play in a stadium with wind consistently blowing out during baseball season.

It's why they have hit 100+ HRs and given up 100+ HRs.

Also field dimensions are small
320 lines
365 gaps
390 centerfield
That plus wind is a hitters haven. They are a good team but the stats are slightly skewed. This bomb centered offense went to a real ballpark and they hit 2 homers in 4 games this weekend. We hit 5.5... It'll be a good matchup but on paper they look much better than they are.

In addition, CCU only has one LHP on their roster (Kitchen is a very solid reliever avg. 2 innings per outing). That means the worst strikeout guys on our team - both left-handed hitters - will not see too many of the matchups that lead to K's for them.

Coastal has good pitching depth, and a solid lineup. Still able to score runs away from home. Lot of guys in the lineup hit for average, while 2-5 are the 15+ HR guys.

Yes, the Big South is very much a hindrance in being taken seriously. The level of competition this year was flat out awful. Don't let that fool you, tough. CCU is capable of "going up a weight class" on any given day, especially considering the run they are on right now.

Very much looking forward to this series. I wish I could make the trip to BR, because I've always had a respect for LSU. And I want to eat all of the food in BR.
