it was Peveto and Joe Robinson FWIW,

Just out of curiousity, how is it possible to get Joe Robinson and Porter confused?

It was during an LSU punt return. One coach (Peveto?) was waving for what looked like a punt safe on 4th and 1. The other coach (Porter?) sent out the punt return team or at least the returner. The argument ensued after that. Les Miles stepped in to calm them down, but when he went up the field for the offensive possession, the coaches went back at it. Then a player (RFJ?) stepped in the middle and the coaches stopped.

If that's the case, Peveto definitely had reason to be pissed ... on 4th & 1, it's the DC's call, not Porter's call or even the Teams' coach for that matter.

However, that kind of stuff needs to be handled internally, and any argument that ensued should have been settled quicky and quietly between the two coaches, not for all to see.

For my part, I wasn't sure what coaches were arguing, I put question mark by the coaches names because other people were naming them. But, I did see one of the coaches (Peveto?) waving his arms in an "incomplete motion" which I would assume would mean punt safe. I saw the coach at the other end of the field send out Trindon Holliday and then the argument started.

With that said, RJF stood up and took control. He's a leader! And everyone saw that!

Maybe some good will come of this. One thing I've been concerned about that I haven't seen discussed much is team leadership. Last year we had Hester, Dorsey, Flynn, and Doucet. Maybe its time for this to start becoming RJF's team, and others who step up when it counts to not just play well, but do the right thing in tough situations. We'll see what emerges.

You are correct. I was pretty close and saw the whole thing. 2 white guys. Peveto and Robinson.

Welcome to the Rant. Nice shot on your first post.
I’ll bet that 98% of those here think that your “LSUredleg” must mean that you have a “social” disease.

Peveto looked liked a total jackass!
There's something about this guy I don't like. I saw an interview with him, not sure what it is, but he seems kinda snarky. I hope Miles puts an end to it.

Um..yeah. I started the thread, and merely mentioned that I saw two coaches (never named names) get into a fight on our sideline before halftime. I posted because I was sitting in 103 under the press box and couldn't see which coaches were arguing, and was hoping someone sitting a little closer had better intel. However, they were both white, so you got that part correct.

I do agree with several posts, however, that it is "bush league;" something along the lines of the Miami/Fla International fight a few seasons back. It doesn't belong at LSU, certainly not among the coaching staff. These guys are supposed to be the leaders and mentors of our players. The more credit to RJF that he stepped up when others stood by.

It reminds me of much of my childhood when my sisters and I had to be the more mature ones when dealing with our parents. Way to go RJF! Set them straight.

I think Peveto has a history of this.

If I'm not mistaken, it was he and Moffitt that verbally got into it before Moffitt ruffled his shirt and spit down his throat.

FYI, I can't speak for what happened this past game but Moffit was in the wrong last year when this happened. Granted they are both hot-headed but Moffit was the cause of the fight b/t he and Peveto last season.

As memory serves, basically Peveto was trying to talk to his guys before they went on the field. One of Moffit's assistants got in the group of players and started trying to fire them up while peveto was talking (i.e. helmet slapping, screaming, etc). Peveto jumped the assistant's arse and Moffit tried to defend him. Everyone around said that the assistant was in the wrong and Moffit, being that guy that has never been wrong in his life, tried to fight Peveto becasue of it.

fyi, this came from another one of Moffit's assistants that was caught in the middle.
