play two quarterbacks in pressure games. I takes courage to do this It also requires coaching
Bear did it: 1973-74 Sugar Bowl
1973 Sugar Bowl #1 Alabama vs #3 Notre Dame

LSU QB plays best game of career.
Rant wants QB sitting on bench.
I mean, it worked that one time in 1973!

Don't forget 1985-1988 the LSU second-team/second-string/backup quarterback was Mickey Guidry. Both Bill Arnsparger AND Mike Archer used Guidry regularly, behind Jeff Wickersham and Tommy Hodson. Everyone knew Guidry would come in for the second or third series of the first half, and perhaps even the second half.
His yearly totals would equal out to one game's-worth of passing and rushing, but it was enough to force defenses to adjust. There was some success there.
Hell, in 1987, he even got an interception.

If you have two quarterbacks you have no quarterbacks!
