I wonder how many games in the NCAA this year have seen both teams shoot a higher percentage from 3-pt range than at the FT line.

I bet Chris Jackson would take the job. That dude was money.

Just got home from work and the first two threads that catch my eye are "Fla by 22" and "Hire a free throw coach:

Just watched Patric Young miss a bunch of his free throws.
SEC stats for FT's have Vandy at bottom with .632%, LSU -.642, Kentucky - .643, Miss St. -.659, Ark - .677.
There are only 2 SEC teams with FT percentage of .700 or more - A & M & Mizzou.
Free throw shooting down all over.
We still need to improve, obviously.

CJJ says our free throw issues are mental. In the head not in the arm/hand/legs. They do practice FT's ( have seen 'em). They make them then.
Whoever said they should practice FT's when they're exhausted should watch a practice. They do.
As others have said, I think the answer is to practice on their own time till it becomes absolutely rote.
Trouble is they are students and have classes/homework, practices, games and road travel. When to do?

Too many excuses. Other, better teams seem to make it happen.

Not in the SEC. See my post above.
Only Mizzou has more than 70% (.744) FT shooting.
Not making excuses, giving REASONS why it's difficult to practice this skill when you're a college kid.
Not arguing that they don't need more practice (and maybe a visit with sports psychologists

Folks...don't worry. Over time CJJ will recruit excellent FT ball players. CJJ had UNT players shooting as a team like in the 70% range before he left. Josh White a UNT former PG from LA shot like over 80% from FT and was like ranked second in the NCAA his Jr. and maybe senior yrs at UNT.
You guys are Blessed to have CJJ. Our AD hired some clown assist. coach from MU named Benford, he can't coach and now the team that CJJ built and our program at UNT is being taken back to the "Stone Age".
I'm just going to have to be a new LSU fan because of CJJ and walk away from UNT Men's BB. UNT's athletic director made terrible hiring decision with coach Benford and won't fire him. Sad because CJJ team Benford inherited had such great potential with the right coach at the helm. CJJ was that coach, but LSU wisely hired him away from UNT. CJJ always said he wouldn't leave UNT unless LSU came calling, they did, the rest is history!!!

If they're willing to learn it then I'm willing to teach them.
