According to LSU, Fargas will be absent because of COVID-19 contact tracing issues related to an external media obligation.

I'm honestly impressed we haven't had cancelations yet or any major issues with COVID at all this year. Has been pretty smooth season to be honest.

The team is playing pretty well...though they did have to pull one out of their arse today vs. Ole Miss. A 4-point play with 11 seconds left usually helps.

These girls find ways to win. They may not be the most talented team in the league, but they bust their asses every night.

She is doing better then Will Wade at least her team does not choke at the end of a game and get out coached .

The women did almost the opposite of what the men did.

Ole Miss was up 6 with the ball with 1:00 left. Then this is what happened:

0:59 Ole Miss turnover. Steal by Pointer.

0:57 Pointer 2 FT. Down 4

0:51 Ole Miss turnover

0:38 Pointer misses a 3. Ole Miss rebound.

0:31 Ole Miss turnover--Steal by Pointer.

0:30 Pointer layup + FT. Down 1

0:23 Ole Miss 2 FT. Down 3

0:11 Seay 4-point play. Up 1

0:01 Ole Miss makes 1 of 2 FT. Overtime.

9 LSU points in the last 0:59.
3 Ole Miss turnovers plus fouling a shooter twice, leading to a 4-point and a 3-point play.

I honestly think that is a bigger meltdown than our men had.

LSU's women do play defense and can rebound. Offensively, they're a little more challenged.

But they are getting better at that also.

LSUGRAD, you are much more plugged into this than me, what does NF have to do to keep her job? She has done much better than I expected in SEC play so far, but lots of tough games left- does 8-7 in conf save her? They would be 10-11, so does she have to make NCAA and win a few games? And to be honest here, I want her gone, 10 years is enough...IMHO

I've always said that if she could recruit like she coaches, we could be contenders every year. I think she does well on the court, but in college you haven't to out work everyone to get great players and I just don't see that happening.

I'm not "plugged in" necessarily...I just have followed the program for a while.

Next year will be interesting since the NCAA has basically said this year doesn't count toward eligibility.

If she gets important seniors back like Pointer, Aifuwa, Trasi, and Seay, then we can be very good next year.

But what if all of them decide they have had enough of college and decide to move on with their lives? All that would be left would be Tiara Young and a bunch of freshmen who are getting ZERO playing time this year, plus whatever freshmen show up for next year. Nobody who is new to the roster this year has contributed anything.

Shematsi was supposed to be "special", but has been a bust. The only freshman who plays is Petty, and she comes in just to give Aifuwa a breather.

The disappointing thing from a big picture standpoint, and it has been mentioned in this thread and plenty of times prior, is that the talent is nowhere near what Baylor, Louisville, UConn, South Carolina, etc. bring in. The absolute ceiling for this group of players, if everything breaks right and they all stay another year, is the Sweet 16.

This whole year has been bullshite with the pandemic and teams having to sit out and teams canceling the season. I don't think you fire anybody after this year based solely on how this season turns out, unless the bottom completely falls out in the next 6 games.

But if Pointer and Aifuwa depart after this year....next year looks bleak. If you are the boss and want to sit her down for a conversation after the year ends, that would be warranted.
