If he really wants to go, I could see it. But with Bear and Frey gone, there’s definitely going to be a pay bump on the table for him to stay that may end up being more money overall. A good glove, clutch hitter and high character leader is worth that considering how much we lost to the draft.

They can be, but you have to hit at a much much much higher percentage
Gwynn is one of the greatest contact hitters of all time.
He averages less runs and less RBI per 162 games than Kyle Schwarber who is the prototypical 3 true outcome hitter.
