Yes I do remember the line. Saban left us in trouble on the oline but I was referring to the 06 class to attrition.

Hitt shouldn't have started at G as long as he did, no offense to the dude. But LSU was kinda limited to keeping him in because they had no other choice. Which goes back to my point with Les, developing his OL and attrition.

If he didn't lose his 06 class, he'd have guys available last year that were developed much better than the depth they had last year. Hitt most likely wouldn't be starting due to that. Neither would PD because of his inexperience. You could argue maybe Black would sit the bench because something was obviously wrong with him.

But of course none of that happened because LSU had Freshman sitting behind their starters.

My point is attrition was hurting LSU last year too, it won't just be felt this year.

BTW, the 08 OL class is almost completely gone by attrition too.

Why is he leaving?
I would think because he wants to play and want get that for at least another year, I saw this comin, this kid shouldn't have never signed with LSU. Should have went to his hometown MSU, and it's a shame because he the potential to be good, but sitting behind 2 young QB's for 2 to 3 years, I don't know what he was thinking.

also, Russell Shepard, possibly another gifted QB has to be moved to WR.

where is the idiot that was arguing with me about Shepard probably would not have been good at QB.

wasn't there a story on here a while back that garrett told the staff he needed more time?

Yes. It was quoted in an article from CM. Don't remember which article, but it was B4 the spring game.

All the OL who were gone by attrition:

06:

Entire OL class

07:

Jarvis Jones
Ernest Mccoy
T-Bob's career is likely done, wouldn't be surprised to see him attrition too

08:

Thomas Parsons
Cordian Hagans
Clay Spencer
Greg Shaw?(is he still on the roster?)

09:

Carneal Ainsworth

That is A LOT of attrition. Blackwell is from the 07 class and is another converted DL. Been rumors that Lowe might be booted soon too...

Really? Hurst, Longergan, Shaw.. 3 contributors from the class of 08, I'll take that any day of the week. I don't remember seeing Shaw leaving, he's still on the website too.

Is Porter still on OL? (ninja edit )

I still think depth and competition are the keys to driving one of J Lee or Jefferson into a role of prominence. The now lack of CG tells me that this aspect of competition will be taken away.

Really? It tells me that the competition from CG was never really there in the first place, so that nothing has really changed.

LSU is in the same position now as it was earlier this year.

Per Tigerbait he wasn't cut. He asked for his release and Miles granted it.

I vote that we redshirt Jefferson and start Shepard this season with J-Lee as a backup.

And for the record, I'm not entirely sure that's a bad thing. It's just going completely against everything he's done his first 5 years here.

If this had been two months ago, wouldn't have tought alot about it. But two months from the first game, something isn't right. This isn't your normal decision to transfer, or cut a kid. Whichever it was.

TCU, Boise St, Cinci, Texas Tech, Oklahoma St, etc.. can all find QBs and usually 3* guys.

Maybe we should ask for tips

Maybe they should play v SEC defenses and we see how good they really are. When you play in a league with no defense even you or I can look alright.
If Garrett wants off the team.....so long. Thanks for your time. Whatever his reasons are, fine. Don't let the door hit you in the arse.

Something like this was attributed to Les right after the spring game. Looked pretty solid, as far as information goes.

Cause Jefferson and Lee really light up CUSA, PAC10, and BIG10 defenses Don't care who they're playing these guys hit receivers in stride on a consistent basis. I really like Cinci's offensive system.. wish we'd run it.
