Yeah but has lost 4 in a row and lost the biggest one. And his roster has been as good or better most years

Lsu was a national power in the 1st half of mac's time here and then they fell to mediocrity. The same type thing is happening now under Les.
Call me when we fail to finish in the top 25 6 years in a row. Not saying the trend of the last couple of years isn't at least a little troubling, but it isn't the same and we have the players to turn it around this year and going forward.

McClendon lost his job in large part to being 2-8 vs Bama.
No, I remember he lost his job because he had similar offensive philosophy to Les: "When you put the ball up in the air 3 things can happen, 2 of them are bad".

Yes, tons of coaches have winning records against Saban. Why can't Miles?

Tiger fans probably said the same type thing in the mid 70s

How ya figure, PEEJ?
And what does that have to do with his blanket, parroted statement that everyone regurgitates re: Alleva?

Les is 3-6 against Saban with two OT losses.
OK... BUT Miles has st 4 in a row to Saban and in the biggest one of all got outcoached by a huge margin.... That flukish 9-6 win in 2011 seems like forever ago.............

LSU offense was more dynamic under Cholly Mac.

No, because that isn't true either. Classic PEEJ. Never change, buddy. Never change.

I find the comparison eerily similar. Great success early followed by mediocrity afterward. While Miles was able to capitalize a bit more on his early advantage it remains to be seen if he can pull another championship season out of his hat. He has been a more determined recruiter certainly. Good men, good coaches let's see if Miles can find another magical season.

FLUKE.... Bama makes just ONE FGhey missed and LSU has a loss..... Tell me... When was the last time Miles dominated A Bama coached Saban team like Bama did to LSU in 2013???? They crushed LSU. NO excuses...

This assessment is absolutely spot on.
And not to mention the fact that his record against teams with a winning record in those waning years of his LSU career was not very good. His wins were mostly against very unimpressive teams that had losing records. It was lack of on the field performance against decent teams was his down fall, not so much the specific record against Alabama. (and part of that dismal record against decent teams, despite reasonable decent talent on the LSU teams) was the fact that he would not replace his offensive coordinator.

So who does LSU hire after Miles is fired? He has to beat Bama right? Who does that the most?
Who a-hole?

While I don't necessarily buy the premise that OP is putting out, this is also bullshite. LSU's program now versus in 1979 is apples to oranges.
Did you see what happened to UF and Tennessee? One wrong HC hire can send you spiraling.
ETA: Let's hope when Miles does leave, we make a good hire.

You are inconsolably stupid.
They missed a 44 yarder, a 50 yarder, a 49 yarder (blocked) and a 52 yarder.
