Children of Georgia Southern accident - Funds Delivered (***Update in OP)

----------------------------------
Update: 9/20/19
----------------------------------
This morning I turned over control of the funds to Matthew Hagan, the oldest sibling. I received confirmation from gofundme that funds were successfully withdrawn. We raised $45,050 which netted 43k+ change to the Hagans after fees. I didn't end the campaign so any lingering donations can still be made and the Hagans can withdraw those funds as well.
LSU fans - I can't tell you how thankful the Hagan family is along with their friends. TONS of Georgia Southern fans have contacted me over the past weeks saying they are overwhelmed with the generosity of the LSU family. They all expressed tremendous gratitude and said they are now LSU fans for life!
Thanks to all who donated.
----------------------------------------------
I've never done this before but I set up a GoFundMe which will be sent to the children of the GSU fans involved in the tragic auto accident. They were traveling back to Georgia after spending the weekend in NOLA and then the game. All 3 of their children are students at GSU one of whom is a cheerleader. Please do what you can for them and spread the word.
God Bless those kids and the entire GSU community.
GoFundMe - Gift from LSU to GSU family
PS - I’ve made contact with close friends of the family who will help coordinate the funds when the time comes.
-----------------------------------------------------
Update 9/11:
I was interviewed yesterday by LSU paper the Reveille as well as another station from the Atlanta area. We’ll keep this campaign active for a while and hopefully get another surge or two.
** If you haven’t already please forward the gofundme link and story out on your social media and all email contacts. If you don’t have facebook etc please ask your wife and/or kids to send on theirs.

Great idea. As soon as I finish working on this Jeep I’ll donate. Just placing this comment as a reminder for me.

You should probably take your real name off of it so the OT stalkers don't find you.

Good of you to do this. I'll definitely do what I can.

I thought the same thing. Great deed but at the risk of being stalked by OTers.

Horrible tragedy. They were celebrating 25 years of marriage. Spent time in NOLA before coming to BR for the game. Unspeakable tragedy

These things really do make a difference to those dealing with deep suffering. I watched my old man die at 48 out of nowhere, and when I got back to work everyone had gathered a fund to help me and mom. That truly touched me and made me feel like we weren't alone in this intense emotional struggle.
These really do go a long way, they made a difference for us. Please help whoever you are willing to, it's nothing to us to make a short term sacrifice but the support of your community goes so much farther than simple bank statements.
