I charted every pass from Nix tonight. His aDot( average depth of target) was 6.15 yards tonight, meaning his passes averaged a hair over 6 yards down the field.

Nix attempted:
13 passes 10+ yards
3 passes 20+ yards
9 passes behind the line of scrimmage

This is a typical game for Nix, his average is around 6.5 yards for the season, among the lowest in the country.

Great game by the Oregon pass catchers picking up their dink and dunk QB.

His two touchdown passes were pretty nice

I don't see anything in the boxscore about check downs. Quit bitching

Not to mention that 395 total yards and 3 TDs would be one of Daniels worst games statistically. Basically what he did against Alabama, a top defense.and he left in the 3rd quarter.

Slightly in depth stats confuse you

Heisman voters could care less about that. Espn boxscores are what matter

How does that compare to Daniels? Genuinely asking because I honestly don’t know and I think some stats were posted a while back. It seems like our offense is a good mix of safe, short/intermediate throws with yac opportunities, and when combined with Daniels running opens up downfield also.

It’s a hard stat around which to wrap one’s mind, but eventually leads you to an inevitable conclusion.

Thanks

Hopefully that isn’t too far over the head of the voters but I don’t give them a lot of credit.

Were they? One was a swing pass to the back.

Across body and over the entire field to a wide open receiver? Did you watch the game?

These are basic stats in 2023, not super deep or from an algorithm. Any Heisman voter should take this into account.

How much less could they care?

That pass was fine but you said

One of them was a simple swing pass to the back, not really a pretty nice pass IMO. Effective and a good choice but not what I classify as pretty nice.

No but 85% of the Heisman voters are going to base their vote off these stats.

QB101 will tell anyone that was a bad throw that would be at least batted down and more likely picked by any good secondary. It was just made against a really poor OSU secondary. They were awful.
