I just read all 10 pages of this thread and my takeaway is as follows:
You are NOT an LSU fan. You are an obsessive loser and seriously need to get a life.

quote:That is credible. But the stat given in the TD thread was 8 drops and 3 would have been TDs. That is the comment that doesn't make sense.
Some of his passes fell incomplete because of drops.
No mention of 3 dropped TDs in the Advocate article (which would have been notable).

it's been a problem for a long time, going back to the Miles era, and probably before that. At least they got it corrected now. IMO you really cant underestimate the importance of putting in that kind of work. I know some of the players in the past worked around it and got the necessary reps on the machine, Odell and Jarvis, for example. It's just good to see that it is now seemingly becoming a part of the routine of all the WR's (and hopefully the DB's, TE's, and RB's as well)

Buckeye can't answer this question, but perhaps you can.
How many reps were WRs getting on jug machines prior to this summer? We know the number from this summer, because Chase told us. But is the claim that they were getting zero reps on the jug machines?
What is an accurate number of jug machine reps a WR needs? Please give some research to back this claim.
Is the concept of elite level athletes putting in extra work foreign to some of you? If LSU was requiring WRs to do 5,000 reps when Beckham was there it's possible he would have done extra reps. If LSU required 10,000 reps, it's still likely he would have done extra reps.

We had 10,000 balls we had to catch over the summer so that's something we didn't do last year. - JaMarr Chase
And Again:
Chase confirms that LSU WRs were not getting required mega-reps on the Jugs machine last year.
AND, more importantly, they are getting them now... this Summer.
All the rest is nonsense noise.

So 10,000 is the magic number for a summer?
Can you show me something suggesting that 10,000 will produce better results than, say 8,000?
How many reps were LSU WRs getting before this summer? Was it zero? 1,000? 5,000?
And of course, I'll need you to back these claims with something.

Says who?

Meanwhile, Orgeron said backup quarterback Myles Brennan had a “tremendous day.” Brennan struggled running the first-team offense last week, but he finished 13-of-25 with 260 yards and one touchdown. He completed one pass for a 56-yard gain. Some of his passes fell incomplete because of drops.
Seems they are really affecting Brennan, Burrow is just seeming to hover around that 57% completion mark.

Making sure your WRs catch enough balls is an obvious one that went overlooked by him for two years. What about the small details that champions need to do that others aren't doing?
The point is that it has been overlooked, at LSU, for ever, except by individual receivers who took it upon themselves to put in that kind of work. Now it seems to be a part of the program. Is this not a good thing?

You know he doesn't know this, because he doesn't have a source.
They could've been getting 7000, 8000, or 9500. He doesn't know.

You are also leaving out the part where I said (during the Summer) that there was some buzz (unconfirmed) that Brady/Moffitt had changed course, and the WRs were getting reps.
Link? Because three weeks before fall camp you said:

My sources tell me they're not getting a minimum of 100 reps a day.

They didn't do offseason Jugs reps last year. Period.
You can try to parse your way into completely bullshitting yourselves, but anyone with a brain knows what Chase said.
We'll see more reporting on this in the near future. TITTB

What? You think they took ZERO reps all off season last year? I'm gonna need a link or a quote or something on this one.

Yes. He said that didn't catch that number last year. Maybe they did it by hours and not by catches. Maybe they had to do 8000. Nowhere does he suggest that they didn't do it at all.

Not doing Mega-Reps, not even that, not being required to do Mega-reps (I hate that phrase), does not equal.
1. Not doing offseason Jugs reps
2. WRs not having access to the Jugs machine
3. You being intelligent.

Ok. Required reps is WAY different than not using it, period.
