You can go frick yourself. I’m an LSU fan and supporter. LSU comes first. I’ll always be about what’s best for the team, not the individual prima donnas that make up the team, and I’m not ashamed of it. If I want to be pissed at a kid who puts himself above the team, I’ll do so. Maybe if those of you who want to applaud these kids for making selfish decisions, whether you’re genuine or virtue signaling, would stop, this “me” thought process would become less popular.

Thank you for making my point.
High level = more than being a high school has been.

Your point is valid. But the Patriots did have Tom Brady, the leader of the team comes first at a bargain price, as well.

I have zero issue with him opting out. He has nothing to prove at all on the college level.

My only issue was the timing. He had a team counting on him after saying that he was in several times. I hope he does well in the nfl but it’s kind of crappy to go back on the commitment to playing this close to the season.

I don't blame him at all. Or anyone, this year.

As I understood it, 2020 doesn't count against eligibility anyway, right? Even if he played, technically 2021 he'd have 2 years eligibility, if he wanted, right?

Everything's just so fricked up, it makes plenty of sense to tap out and wait for next year. Get drafted then, or if he wanted to, come back into a normal structured routine.

It sucks that we lose him for this season, but I wish him best of luck in the NFL and hope he will be a great ambassador for LSU for many years to come.

Absolutely. I hope he is rookie of the year.

There is also risk. If he doesn't have the same season, those same measurables could weigh him down a bit more.

This is what I think is going on here. He’s a lock to go at the top of the 1st round. An injury this season or a season that doesn’t live up to what he was able to accomplish last year drives down his draft stock. And on the flip side, there’s absolutely nothing he can do it raise his stock. It’s already as high as possible.

What's the timing? A month before a theoretical start to a bizarre season that still might not even happen?

It’s just not as big an issue as people act like. We’ve just started practice on the 17th
