Well, since the conversation was about DIRECT taunting, I'd say if you're not facing the opponent it's pretty difficult to do anything other than fart directly at them.

He did it while looking at his own dugout. How could that be seen as taunting? Plus, he was off the charts amped up at the time, throwing 102. It was pure emotion, at some point you just gotta let these dudes play

I saw it live when he did it. The first thing came to mind was oh shite he gonna be hearing about that from the NCAA!
Why don't they stop dudes with dicks competing against women then worry about taking the emotion out of 20 year olds in sports!

Who knows what they will decide. Maybe all it really was a low hand salute to his dugout that was misinterpreted as throw slash gesture to the other team.

He also did it at least once the next inning that I saw. He struck out Sarge, I think, and spun around to CF and did it again.

I would think they'd be more worried about how absolutely psychotic the kid seemed for well past what would normally be deemed "normal". He looked like a wide eyed axe murderer for enough time to walk to his dugout, find the camera, walk to it, and continue looking like he just snorted a quarter pound of meth and slaughtered a family of four.
