Called C'mon Man

This is an appreciation thread for the player and his induction into the CFB HOF. However, if we're going to pimp his stuff, let's do it right:

C'mon Man Cajun Seasoning

(Hopefully this does not conflict with a td.com advertiser...)

Ha yea I guess you're right.

I should now make a comment reguarding his time here, like the season where he averaged over 150 rushing yards per game

He was totally my hero when I was a kid. My athletic jersey number was always 4 when I had dreams of being a running back. Or 6 for Dr. J. He played at LSU when I was about 10 years old and I was a HUGE Charles Alexander fan. LSU was not great during those years, but he was a great back - one of the best all time.

A real workhorse taiback. Also surprising straightaway speed for a big guy...could outrun you or run over you, whatever the situation required. And, based on what I heard around school at the time, a geniune nice guy. I recall stories of him giving his time to support charitable events around campus, without all the well-crafted media attention / image-building you see now.

Had lunch with him last year in Houston. What a great guy... Truly a humbled individual.

I'll date myself. Was on the team at that time. Charles is the nicest, kindest most humble player I ever knew.

And if he was signed today out of high school people on the rant would be flaming recruiting. He averaged about 7 carries a game in high school. Jerry Stovall saw him and offered him. The fact of the matter was he saw the 6'2" 215 pounds running 4.3 and getting to top speed at the second step. His acceleration was sick. But it is doubtful Rivals or Scout would have ranked him very high because he didn't really get that many carries in high school as I remember it.

Alexander the Great
Loved watching him play back in the day of the tear-away jerseys.

Texastiger I remember in the early 80s everyone was so proud of CA in the pros. Everyone just loved the guy.

Had quite a bit of contact while at LSU, LSU law immediately after he went to the Bengals, and years later when he worked for TAF. Super friendly , humble down to earth guy. A true gentleman, very deserving, and this honor, IMO, is long overdue.

Tearaway jerseys. Those things got so out of hand towards the end, that if one of your teammates slapped you on the back too hard, you'd have to get a new shirt.

No doubt. Of course it always seemed like the jerseys that the Bama and MSU QBs wore were nothing more than tissue paper.

Same here. He was a beast. I loved the tearaway jerseys they wore back in the 70's.

He was on the Cincinnati Bengals team that lost the Super Bowl to Joe Montana and the 49ers in 1981. He rushed for a TD in that game. It was a good game.

I'm glad he's getting in now but why did Jerry Stovall have to wait 100 yrs to get in? CFHF must have more respect for LSU now.
