I am shocked that people don't understand this. I thought Wilson was going to get broken in half last week. The spear JJ took

Thankfully miles is smarter then people give him credit for. JJ will get some chances so he can be a viable option as would any coach in the same situation. Most teams don't have the luxury of 2 senior qb's.

I agree 100%

Yeah, let's not try to win a NC so we can develop our starter for the next 2 years who just happens to fit our offense better than any QB we have.

He might be pouty but if LSU is undefeated going into bama his team mates wont care and so winning trumps distraction.

At this point, I would rather take a chance with Mett as the back up. JJ is too inconsistent and mostly just bad in the passing game. I think the light goes off for JJ in games rather than on and he ends up having to run for yards and it ends up really hurting our offense because we become one dimensional. I'd rather take the chance on Mett and have a balanced attack.

How beautiful would it be to do to Bama what LSU did to Tennessee in Atlanta 2001?! That was their m.o. that night, and it proved to be hubris.

I'll give you the fact that JJ has been inconsitent (that's stating it nicely). But he does bring another threat on the field...his running ability. And yes, he has thrown a couple of decent passes.

You sure Mett will look fine passing against a quality SEC D. I'm not. And if he can't, he doesn't bring the treat of the run that JJ does.

As stated in the reference I used above, when Ro went down against Tenn in 2001, the entire Tenn nation said "oh we got this thing now" and the entire LSU nation said "oh shite".

Mauck came out and not a soul had any faith in him - against a quality SEC defense - and methodically engineered drive after drive of shocking the shite out of both sides.

I think that if there was no other option and Mett is the only option to go with, he would be the same way.

We're getting to the point in our schedule where we'll be playing teams that we will need to have a legitimate passing threat in order to beat them.

We don't have that when Jefferson is in the game. He may be able to scramble, but he will not beat you with his arm.

My fear is not so much that Miles will bench Lee for JJ, it's more that we'll go back to the 2 QB system, and it will mess up whatevever offensive continuity we have.

Put JJ out there as a 4th or 5th WR on occasion. He'd be a great decoy for a fake end around or end around pass.

Initially I looked a JJ's return as distraction to a team that has obviously come together really well. I didn't want him to come back.

But there's a likelyhood that JL will get injured at some point this year. Would be nice to have an experienced senior coming off the bench instead of an unproven Mett.

Best case scenerio...JJ returns as a backup. Is not a distraction to the team. And hopefully we don't need him, but he's there if we do.

Agreed. JR got hurt in 05, Flynn in 07, Lee and Hatch in 08, JJ in 09. Chances are at some point in some game it may happen. JJ has been there already. Mett hasn't.

While you're using some of your supernatural powers, is this 2012 stuff real? How can I survive it? Where will the new ocean front property be located?
Thanks. I'll hang up and listen.
