And ell, in my opinion, is just looking at numbers in a very small sample size and making the assumption that scouts are drooling over Travinski's bat.
I don't think he's doing that at all. I think what he's looking at is Travinski has hit better the past 2 months than at any other point in his life, by a lot, and is a 4th year player. He'd have no leverage if he came back either because he'd be out of eligibility if he did. It's looking at the big picture if he wants to maximize his signing bonus based on what we know happens there. For instance, I'll use Blake Dean again as an example. He lost money coming bac even though he was drafted higher after his senior year than he was his junior year.

In addition to that, Travinski has prospect pedigree and was being scouted out of high school. His hitting now is affirming the opinions of him from back then. Blake Dean was never a pro prospect.

We all know he would have no leverage, but the point is how high, really, is his stock, that going pro now will make him enough money that he wouldn't turn it down? He's on the radar now, as opposed to being completely off of it coming into the season, but when someone says his stock has "skyrocketed", which has been stated here, I think that's very misleading. I don't know that he would go that high. Good for him, if he does.

I know you have quite a few connections, do you know if he plans to try to pursue a baseball career or is that dependent on where or if (I do think he will get drafted, just not sure where) he gets drafted?

He was always seen as big power guy. I don't think anyone was ever high on his overall hitting, but big power guys get a lot of love out of high school, because there is room to develop. After waiting 4 years to see him start to hit, I don't know how "confirming" or "affirming" a month and a half is to anyone. It definitely raises eyebrows, without a doubt.

His stock was essentially zero before the past 2 months. Now he actually has some stock. No one is projecting him as a high draft pick. But maybe someone offers him $50-75k this year as opposed to the $5k he'd be offered as a 5th year senior

The problem with this is believing anything that comes out of Moscona's mouth.
