Therefore the comparison to Trev Faulk ends.

he shouldn't go in first three rounds according to his play at LSU.

He will be drafted in the first 3 rounds.

what position does he project to play in the NFL? it doesn't look like he has the speed to be a safety in the NFL but i guess the combine will tell.

Safety.

Yes, we'll see what he runs in the combines.

Plus, as I've said before, NFL teams have started to give more weight to "intangibles" (i.e. character, etc) before investing $ in a high round pick. I can tell you that Jones will score high in this regard also.

chad wasnt gonna play baseball this year..he needed tommy john to pitch, so nfl draft was his best option.

There have been rumors about a shoulder injury that would affect pitching, but nothing about an elbow problem. My info concerning his decision to declare for the NFL draft had nothing to do with any injury. The young man and his family are just ready to start making money. I am not saying that you are wrong, I just don't know that you are correct. I think I would have heard if there was an injury that would have affected his pitching.

Same here. I really wanted to see the Dreadlocks of Doom on the mound for a full baseball season.

i'll be surprised if he makes it past the 2nd round. watch LSU's last two games of the year, he was the best player on the field defensively.

i'm willing to bet he got a much better draft grade than alot of people here realize. chris landry a couple weeks back was talking about Chad being a first round talent and how he'll have a tough decision. taylor mays has been projected for a while now to be a first round pick and he's not even that good.

also, i don't buy that he has to have this amazing 40 time/ combine to be drafted where he wants. he needs to show that he's willing to get into better shape, but he's a 230 lb safety, it's not like scouts are expecting him to run 4.4. malcolm jenkins plays corner, weighs 30 lbs less and ran a 4.55 and still went top 15 in the draft. sean taylor ran 4.5 and was drafted top 5.

Thanks for the pics.

I don't think Chad will be replaced as easily as many think. He played well this yr and was only going to get better. The dude was a natural.

Two of my favorite memories:
1) Watching him close on McFadden in '07.
2) His int against Arky in the 1st qtr of '09 - it was like he saw the entire field. Great vision.

Chad - you were great and a great #3 Tiger. Loved watching you play.

Agreed.

I think you are right. Most people that say he's making a mistake are looking at the situation through purple and gold glasses and just want to see him come back.

LSU fans dont want to hear this, but both had better college careers than Jones

CJ will be missed. He had an AMAZING career at LSU.

Nobody on this board can blame him for going early. As a two sport athlete, he has twice the chances of getting injured.
