So...SEC stays the course and doesn’t freak out, makes a great plan, and decides to play 10 games + champ game. Now Big10 comes trotting back in, playing a 8+1, and thinks they deserve to be in the CFP discussion?!

They will be unfortunately.

But what happens when a couple teams have outbreaks and their season is delayed or games are cancelled. What if OSU only actually plays 6 games.

Do they let them in? Do they move back the CFP and force them to play 8?

Yeah it's going to be interesting to see how the committee handles everything.

The daily rapid testing will avoid the position group quarantines that have led to game cancellations/postponements so far this season.

But it’s a valid point. B1G handled this awfully. A national embarrassment. There’s no flexibility in the schedule if Rutgers or Mich State players decide to go to a house party. However, why do you assume the SEC, ACC or Big 12 will get in a full 10 or 11 game schedule. And if all conferences do get in their full seasons are 10+1 really significantly different than 8+1?

For the first time, B1G is playing an 8 game regular season Conf schedule and ACC and SEC fans are complaining. LoL.

Yea. 8 big10 games totally mean the same thing as 10 SEC games

This season is ....... well, it’s 2020. What else can be said. In most years, the top and bottom of the two conferences are usually comparable. It’s the wide middle of good teams where the SEC sets itself apart. And you are assuming every SEC team gets in its 10 games this year.

But the SEC always plays 8 conf games until 2020. And the argument every year prior to 2020 was “an 8 game SEC schedule is too hard, we have to schedule the chickenshit Saturday slate of games.” You can’t argue both ways. Would it make you feel better if Ohio State adopted an SEC and Clemson tradition, went rogue, and scheduled The Citadel for 10/17?

Blah, blah, blah...

Year in year out, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Clemson have the easiest routes to the CFP.

Besides that no one cancels a season because of the flu. You plan a way around the problem like the SEC did.

Ill be surprised if the big ten makes it through the season with the ridiculous protocols they have to follow. Doesn't even take a positive test, ask Baylor and Houston. Also the big ten has no room for error with the tight schedule. SEC,ACC and Big 12 each have at least 2 weeks to fit canceled/postponed games in. If the big ten misses one week does CFP take them or wait? Gonna be interesting. I personally don't care if OSU or another school get in but deep down Im hoping for them to have the season blow up in their faces. Would serve them justice for being the idiots they are.

The top of the SEC is better also.. Kinda hard to argue otherwise when it’s OSU and everyone else and the SEC has LSU,BAMA, UGA, UF, AUB.. Top to bottom SEC is the best and it really can’t even be argued, pretty much any metric would support what I’m saying..

It is not about the best teams. It is about the TV money...

If tOSU is undefeated (likely) and Clem, LSU, Bama, or UGA is as well you can expect ESPN and the CFP committee to figure out how to get these teams in line to face off in CFP.

After Clemson shite the bed last year and all the SEC teams top players left you can bet that Justin Fields will be the media darlin

I wouldn’t include UF, UGA, or AUB in that group, and with the exception of last year, I wouldn’t include LSU. Heck Minnesota beat Auburn last year and the last time UGA won anything I was a senior in high school.

Bottom line is everyone needs to play the games, win the games, and then 13 people will make a decision.

UGA was in the natty just 3 years ago.. and if it weren’t for LSU losing to bama at the end of the year over the years we’d be in it every year too. LSU would smoke every other team in the big ten not named OSU pretty much any year and outside of yalls natty I think LSU would do the same to osu too especially last year. Y’all got lucky Clemson won. Look at all the teams to win or play for the Title from the SEC in the last 10 years and look at the big ten.. it been a lot of different SEC teams and only OSU from the B1G.. Not even close man. MSU made the cfp and got beat by 50 by bama. Top to bottom SEC is superior and if you argue it makes you question if you’ve been watching football for very long.

I agree the SEC is the best football conference, and most years by a wide margin. Just look at NFL draft numbers. With all that talent in your backyards, however, an argument could be made that the SEC should be much better than it is.

There is the occasional season when the Big Ten can challenge for supremacy, such as 2014.

One thing about this strange season, with the SEC not starting until next weekend and the Big Ten for not another month, I’ve watched a lot more ACC and Big 12 than I would normally. There’s a lot of bad football played in those conferences. I’d take Purdue or Indiana or Missouri or Kentucky over most teams in those conferences except for the few obvious ones.

True, the B1G is light years ahead of the ACC and Big 12 and even though we have yet to see the PAC we know how garbage that conference is as a whole. It will be an interesting season for sure.. I don’t like the fact that the people making decision on everything seemingly don’t watch the games or know much about it all. Gameday was saying 6-0 is better than 10-1 yesterday which is absurd but whatever. Just proves that nobody should bother playing tough games until they have to in conference or cfp which is obviously a huge advantage to teams like Clemson and OK
