I agree. Auburn took LSU to the woodshed. Making it close late vs. Miss St. doesn't really bolster any argument for being ranked higher. Miss St also manhandled LSU for most of the game.

Everyone has to play in tough environments. We got housed. It will (and should) keep us out of the playoff unless we somehow win the conference.
I don't disagree. All I'm saying is let's not love up on Arizona State/Arizona for not getting shitkicked by Auburn when they don't even play them.

You've yet to name one team that can objectively be shown to have a better resume. Burden of proof is on you
I never once said any other team had a better resume, I said ND's is comparable. Saying OM's resume is great is ridiculous. It's just better than the other ranked teams, that doesn't make it great in any way.
Your original statement was "OM has a great resume", which I provided proof that they didn't (opponents have 37-25 overall record and they are 1-1 against currently ranked opponents). You've yet to provide proof as to why OM has a "great" resume.

It's great right now. Deal with it.

Way to take it out of context. They have a great resume compared to just about every other team right now. And that is a fact. One you can't disprove.

this is about audience ===> ratings ===> revenues
People like to say this, but it really doesn't make any sense in this context. What part of a ratings-based calculus would lead anyone to put two Mississippi schools in the top 4? They could easily have justified ranking Notre Dame--the ratings juggernaut of all ratings juggernauts--ahead of the Rebels, but they chose not to do so. Not only that, but they actually ranked TCU and Kansas State ahead of Notre Dame. Their rankings may be flawed in some respects (I believe, along with CFN, that they under-rate LSU), but this doesn't mean that there's some sort of grand, ESPN-orchestrated conspiracy.
And while we're at it, why would these committee members really care about generating good revenues for ESPN anyway? None of them works for ESPN. None were chosen by ESPN. All are highly-respected, extremely successful individuals who hardly need to suck up to the media powers-that-be. Do you really think Condoleezza Rice cares how much ad revenue ESPN gets from broadcasting the playoff? It's easy to say that "it's all about the money," but there's really no reason for that to be so in this case.

Don't hold your breath on that one. There is no answer for that.

Who has ND beaten that is "comparable" to Ole Miss beating Alabama? ND's best win is against 3-loss, unranked Stanford. After that it's Syracuse or Michigan. Not sure how ND's resume is "comparable" to Ole Miss right now.

Arizona won at Oregon.

Ole Miss has a great resume
This is your exact post. I didn't take anything out of context.

1-1 against ranked teams isn't great. In fact, it's resumes like this that SEC fans use to shite on other conferences all the time.

Name one team better.Just one.

Yea ESPN would be broadcasting live from ND's campus from now until December and not applauding the committee for having two Mississippi schools in the top 4 if they were so worried about playoff ratings (which will be phenomenal regardless).

were a play away from tying or beating us
And we were a play away from beating Mississippi State.
If you don't think we dominated Mississippi everywhere but the score board, you didn't watch the game or you are just being stubborn.
I know we have two losses. I am not saying we should be six or in the top ten, but we damn sure should be ranked better than Oklahoma or Nebraska or a couple more after whipping up on number four.

Beat Bama, then worry about it.

I said earlier in this thread I'd have LSU ahead of Nebraska, OSU, and Oklahoma.

Our win over OM looked nothing like MSU's win over us. Don't even try to compare them.

Yea people can talk about dominating stats all they want but people could've tuned into LSU-MSU in the second half and seen MSU up 21-24 points. They could've turned on LSU-OM at the same time and seen Ole Miss up 7-3. Maybe LSU did dominate Ole Miss, but it sure didn't show the same way MSU did against LSU.

I hear what you're saying.
But Arizona won at Oregon. They deserve to be ahead of us. And so do a lot of other teams.

I've already said there isn't one better. I'm still waiting for your facts as to why their resume is so great.

Here's a little it's bit for you:
37-25 combined opponents record. 1-1 vs ranked teams with a win over vs. #6 and loss @ #19.
32-24 combined opponents record with no wins over ranked team and loss @ #2.
OM's resume may be a little bit more impressive, but not by as much as you're trying to make it out to be.

So if you concede that they have the 4th best resume, I'd say that's great. No? Great enough to get them in the playoff if it was today. Pretty great resume then IMO.
And I can't believe you still think OM and ND have "comparable" resumes. The committee made it pretty clear last night that big wins carry a lot of weight. That's why ND is 10th. Their best win is Stanford and then the next best drops all the way off to Michigan probably. Ole Miss is 4th because they've beaten Alabama. It's not comparable.
