Being good takes money. If you don't realize this I'm not sure what to tell you. We demand nop notch facilities which are a product of the revenue the conference receives from television contracts. Just look at the reason for expansion, and bringing in Texas A&M. Expand your footprint, increase consumers, increase demand for your product, build more facilities, recruit like a motherfricker, win titles, happy fanbase. Well, except for you.

Absolutely sucks. All TV games suck for the fans in the stands but CBS is the worst. Commercial after commercial.

CBS telecasts are horrible for the reasons you described.

I guess the only silver lining in this is that at least 8 of our games are on network television this year. Other 3 on cable for a total of 11/12 games on TV this year. Thats pretty good exposure.

It's good exposure. Don't get me wrong. I understand the reasoning from a business perspective. I'm not exactly going to dump my tickets because of this. I just don't like going to day games.

What are the cross over games for everyone?

Alabama/Tennessee
LSU/Florida
Auburn/Georgia
Arkansas/So. Carolina
Ole Miss/Vanderbilt
Miss. State/Kentucky

Expansion may be changing one or two of these.
Regarding night games in Tiger Stadium, you can look at any ranking of college football venues and you will see Tiger Stadium in the top 3, and night games will be mentioned as a PRIME reason for the ranking being so high.

BleacherReport:
Power Ranking The 50 Loudest College Football Stadiums
1. Tiger Stadium: Louisiana State
Tiger Stadium, nicknamed "Death Valley," is as loud as they come, particularly for a night game.

FoxSports:
Best College Football Stadiums
Tiger Stadium
The fans have plenty of time to prepare to go bonkers as Tiger Stadium mostly hosts night games, unlike most other venues.

CBSSports:
Ninety-thousand seat Tiger Stadium is a rocking, seething entity Saturday nights. Sneak in a pint of Jack, pull for the Tigers and you're on your way. LSU has done the perfect job of melding Southern football and socializing. The campus is beautiful. For those night games, Tigers fans have all day to, uh, prepare.

ESPN:
1. LSU, Tiger Stadium
Three SEC coaches I spoke with who have worked in other leagues say that Tiger Stadium is, by far, the loudest stadium in the country. "It's night, half the place is loaded, the fans have been partying for like 20 hours straight, this is the last place you want to bring a young QB into," says one coach.

Sports Illustrated:
2. LSU
Total Score: 52

ATMOSPHERE: 10. "It's Saturday night in Death Valley," crows the P.A. announcer as the Tigers storm the field to a deafening roar. The Baton Rouge scene is Cajun-infused, and the 7 p.m. kickoffs leave plenty of time for the sauce to seep in.

Are you getting the picture?

Unfortunately in this day and age, the demands of the consumer take a back seat to the profits of the producer.

The nation can see us at night as well as day. Doesn't your T.V. work at night too? Or only in the day?

In the 90's, CBS rarely touched us but for Arkansas game. We got used to those night games thanks to Florida and Tennessee being top dogs then. The rules of tv were and still are basically the same for the SEC -- pecking order anyway.

Those pieces of praise will soon cease to be written after that part of the history and tradition of our school dies.

Vols vs Gumps has been a rivalry game dating back before the 60's. Should have picked that game.

Yep.

CBS turns a 2 hour game into a 4 hour commercial with football interspersed throughout.

What the hell does CBS have on Saturday night which prevents LSU from having games. This is ridiculous.
