First off, let me say I am selfishly glad that CBS chose the AU/Bama game over our game. I have to work that night and will be able to watch all of our game and wouldn’t have been able to watch our game that much during the day. Having said that, it really doesn’t make a lot of sense to pick the AU/Bama game over our game for multiple reasons. 1. Tua, who is the most popular player in that rivalry, is not playing in the game and more than likely will not even be at the game. 2. More than likely, neither team will be playing for anything of importance in that game. 3. LSU will be playing for an undefeated season! 4. This game has so much back story with what happened last year. 5. Another back story is the whole “Jimbo to LSU” storyline.
All of these, and there are more, are more than enough reason to not pick the AU/Bama game over the LSU/A&M game! Does anyone have any good reasons or have the reason that CBS didn’t choose our game?

Let me also just add that I am truly ecstatic that they didn’t select our game as I absolutely cannot stand GD and am more than happy to listen to anyone that ESPN will have on the call. I just thought it was a little strange given all of the facts that I mentioned before.

AU and Bama are both ranked. A&M is not. Makes sense for them

Simple. CBS believes the Iron Bowl will get higher ratings. Nothing else matters.

I am glad to since I have tickets and would rather a night game than a day game

Meh. It's the Iron Bowl, and both Bama and Auburn are ranked. Really shouldn't be that surprising.

The Iron Bowl is a bigger game and rivalry than LSU A&M

The old joke about the perfect season being winning the national championship and firing the coach.

Tua being out makes this far more likely to be an exciting and competitive game.

Sure, Auburn's offense is inept but Alabama is coming in with a green QB against that front 7 now. 2 weeks ago I'd say Alabama rolls...now I'm not so sure

Plus one is a huge rivalry and interesting while the other is a fake rivalry as the rant is eager to point out.

My job has TV’s that we can watch while working as night-time is not as busy as daytime at my place of employment. I sleep during the day when I work nighttime so I will be sleeping during the AU/Bama game.

Can you please explain why my age has anything at all to do with the question I asked? I get that AU/Bama is a bigger rivalry, nowhere in my OP did I say anything AT ALL that would say anything different. I simply asked a question and used actual points to make my argument. I guess asking a question about LSU sports is a bad idea on a message board that is specifically catered towards fans of LSU!

If you ask any unbiased fan of college football what game they would like to watch, it's the iron bowl.

Plus we get another night game slapjack

If I remember correctly, they've picked the iron bowl every year since 2001 or something pike that. Its kind of a big deal

But I'm also curious why you get to watch LSU if you're working, and not able to while you're not working.
