I think finishing 9th in a mediocre 14 team league probably had a little more to do with it.

Seriously? We are LSU, we have a ton of money. Schools with 10% of our budget will be paying to play in this tournament.
The money excuse is the stupidest thing ever. Like we are strapped for money compared to some of these mid-majors that will pay to play in it
Fact is basketball is way down the totem pole for the guys in charge. That's why they wont pay to play in the tournament. Even though this team absolutely could benefit from playing more games in a tournament style considering we're losing just 1 starter. Especially considering the AD already screwed up the schedule this year.
