And you should know something about us. Our CF is going to play QB for the football team this year. Good luck if we play y'all in a bowl game.

So by your logic Mahtook, Hanover, Nola and Ott will struggle on this stage because they are freshman

Mahtook, Nola and Hanover are not pitchers and not under the pressure of being on the mound. Ott is an exceptional case.

So they will face no pressure at the plate and in the field?? Getting a groundball hit to you at third base with runners on first and third and one out in a one run game could be pretty intense pressure. Ask Hanover, I'm sure he will agree.

So Ott is the exception because he plays for LSU? How much do you know about this freshman lefty?

you must not have very high expectations for your football team next season if you think you might play us in a bowl

At least he isn't Virginia's version of a ranter.

Not the same as being on center stage. Sure, they may have some jitters, but the pitcher has to deal with that all game long and mistakes can be costly.

Mistakes from fielders can be just as costly. I get your point and I hope you are absolutely correct. I hope he can't control his nerves early and we chase him in three innings. I'm just not as giddy as you about facing a lefty, regardless of who he is.

Every freshman on the field will feel pressure in some way, shape, or form. If Hultzen can get past the first few innings he will be fine. I have a lot of confidence in the lefties in our bullpen to close out the game

I don't like having to face a lefty, but I'm more comfortable that he's a freshman. If this kid shuts us down for more than 3 innings, I'll tip my hat to him. Maybe I'll be proved wrong, but after seeing him twice through the lineup, I think we'll be fine.

That lefty from Florida that shut the LSU hitters down was a freshman. I think you're failing to make a point.

All freshman have seen 50+ games this year - they are no longer freshmen.

We are on a friggin TEAR against lefties - something like 12-1 the last 2 months.

Bring on a lefty.

No he had a point. It was that a freshman at this big of a stage. The freshman lefty wasn't pitching against LSU in the first game of the CWS when we played UF. I believe that is what he was saying.

Just how deep and talented is the lefties in your bullpen?? Is it believe that we will face left handed pitchers from the 1st through the 9th??

dude is actually legit. Saw him pitch a couple times while he was in high school. Would not shock me if we had trouble against him in the first few innings

Wasnt Brett Laxton a freshman when he pitched and dominated in the 1993 CWS championship?

True, it happened once. I also know that our team plays at another level in the post season. Like I said earlier, if he shuts us down for 3 innings, I'll tip my hat, but I think we'll be OK after we've seen him twice through the lineup.
