I'm looking at getting something to tailgate with at Tiger Stadium next season. Do you need to have a motor home or can you tailgate with 5th wheels also?
TIA
TIA

I don't think 5th wheels are allowed. It has to be a motor home. Pretty certain.

We used to go to touchdown village in a pop up. That was in 2003-04. We then went with at 27 ft pull behind. This was in the single game lot.

Tailgated in TV2 for 7-8 years, there are 5th wheels and travel trailers in there. Have not heard of any changes for next season, but I would check with the Athletic Dept. before making a purchase.

my dad tailgates every year in a 5th wheel but you have to buy an RV parking pass. But he may have to get a RV pass because his is 40 ft long and basically an RV without an engine.....im not sure.

We do it every year in the vet/med lot.

Yes, you can have a fifth wheel, but your truck cannot stay in the lot on gameday.

I have been tailgating for years in a 5th wheel. You must park all RV in the designated areas. You will have to get Med Vet parking for your 5th wheel. If you have a 5th wheel you do not need to take your truck out of the parking lot-- it stays with the 5th wheel. Hopes this helps.

Okay, here's the correct answer. I've been RVing in Touchdown Villiage in a 5th wheel for the past two years.
1. You pay $1,000 for the parking spot just like everyone who has a motorhome.
2. Not only can you keep your vehicle in the parking lot you HAVE to. What if your trailer caught on fire.
3. The cut-off time for leaving the parking lot in your truck is 6 hours before kickoff.
4. You can park your 5th wheel in your parking spot at 5:00 p.m. the day before the game, but not until 5:00 p.m.
5. Of course you will need a generator and all generator exhaust must be vented above the RV. You can easily find a long exhaust pipe for a motorhome, but I have not seen one for a seperator generator. So, I made a simple exhaust system myself. I have a PVC pipe attached to the ladder (painted purple, of course). The generator sits below that. To direct the exhaust from generator into that pipe I had a 2 inch by 2 inch U-shaped pipe welded to the generator exhaust. That cost me less than $50.
So much for the rules. I park my RV facing forward just in case I ever had to move my vehichle. If you park facing heading into your space the RV in front of you would block you. I have a 35' RV and once I get the 5th wheel set up I back up truck up so that the tongue is about half way between the hitch and the cab. That allows we to not exceed the lenght of the space. Sleeping outside of Tiger Stadium the night before the game and the night of the game = heaven.
