Mett got worse

This just isn't true. Mett was much better his second year starting.

ETA: in 2013 his completion percentage went up 6%, he threw 10 more TD with only 1 more int, and increased his QBR from 128 to 171.
If Burrow has a 2013 Mett season then we are likely playoff bound.

Damn Brennan must be terrible if he can’t go 54% with 7 TDS and 5 INTs in 10 games

no, Brennan doesn't need "seasoning" and weight isn't the issue either.

He'll never start a game at LSU.

Etling Ranked 286

Burrow Ranked 280

Not sure how Etling came into this discussion, but are you saying O hasn’t brought in a QB any better than Miles and Cameron did? Interesting. Tell that to the CheeriOs.

Etling was the 17th ranked pro style QB in the country who came from Purdue.

Burrow was the 8th ranked DT that was Mr Football of Ohio and signed with Urban at OSU.

Exactly. What games would have turned out differently if Brennan was in there?

Miami- still win easily
SE LA- still win
Auburn- You could argue only Burrow wins this
LA Tech- still win
Ole Miss- still win
Florida- still lose
Georgia- you could argue this one but he was 15/30 for 200 yards. Brennan probably could have done that.
Miss State- still win
Bama- still lose
Arky- still win

So maybe 1 more loss.

Both QBs rated very, very close to .900 on 247. Anyone thinking Burrow is a huge step up from Etling is grossly exaggerating the truth.

Ok, so QB recruiting is another aspect of this program that hasn’t improved in 2.5 years under O

I don’t know why everything has to drill down to a pro-O or nega-O position with some of y’all. This is simply a statement of fact. Etling and Burrow had recruiting ratings that were .007 apart. This offense is in no way more talented than last year’s. It’s in fact much less talented.

I disagree on this. His arm is his best friend.

OK, so what do you think the issue is and why do you think Brennan will never start at LSU, coach Einstein 6487?

Hot take: McMillan would have been no worse than Etling in Canada’s offense

I was just thinking of this earlier. Without Burrow, O would likely be on the hot seat IMO

Without Burrow McMillan would have stayed. I think we'd be better.... I'm not impressed with Burrow.

he's not good enough. Yes, we only have a small sample size from his freshman year, but he didn't show me much in his limited playing time.

And of course this past spring, where he didn't take the reins, and looked bad in the spring game, where he knew he couldn't get hit.

Usually, if a guy has "it" he shows it pretty quickly. And since the coaches clearly didn't trust him after spring, that should tell you he's nowhere close.

Now, can he improve - sure he can. But I expect improvement to be marginal - not a magical transformation.

Mett and Flynn did great their final seasons, one of those even won us a national championship game. Do you watch sports?
