Labas is progressing (higher velo and good control) and proved he is clutch tonight

Fontenot looked good

Bain is a beast

IMO the pitching improving is the best possible thing we could see at this point. Pitching was our weakness. The hitting will come around once we find the right lineup

Anything else?

No doubt.....pitching was good tonight...overall a successful night for LSU baseball....as successful as it could be without winning.

Very pleased with pitching. Just can't understand why our offense struggles in these games.

0-2 on the road is concerning.

I hope Labas can take control of the Sunday role. A rotation of Hess, Gilbert, and Labas with Peterson, Beck, Bush, Fontenot, and Hilliard as middle relief and Bain closing would put us in a good position.

Don’t forget sanders. He has looked better. I think he will be much more than a weekday guy for us

And Stortz too. The key is going to be getting consistent starts from Hess and Gilbert.

Did you see the batting averages of this club? I’m not sure anyone is over 300. The game winner was the 2nd hit this player had this year? And, the umps strike zone was all over the place. This is not a opponent you want to assess your pitching development.

That pitcher ULL threw was pretty damn good. He was hitting his spots all night. No shame to lose to guy throwing like that.

The main things to feel good about was Labas and Fontenot looking as sharp as they did. Both of those guys will be main stays for the rest of this season and beyond. Really good looking prospects.

If the pitcher is hitting his spots, he's hitting his spots. The ump and the opponent don't matter.
