The only complaint I had were the face masks just because it could seriously hurt a player

Regardless of where it is being discussed, what was the "star treatment" that Fournette got last night from the refs? That makes no sense. If you're talking about the media, well then tough shite. We all had to hear about Jesus Tebow Christ for two years. Now it's your turn.

That clear block in the back on Deion Jones made me want to break stuff on the punt return for TD.

Eta: Debo had a clear bead on the return man when he was blocked in the back as well...

This. I kept yelling because it was as obvious a block in the back you could call.

There's no point in elaborating because it doesn't change the game and we're never going to convince each other. If you really want to see what we think, go to Gator Country or Alligator Alley or Fighting Gators.
Okay so there wasn't any Star treatment.

The NCAA seems to have a major problem regarding officiating. It plagued quite a few games yesterday. The Michigan - Michigan State crew seemed completely lost at times.

I saw at least 4 holding calls on LSU'S o-line that were not called
the difference is that this type of holding is quite subtle and not always objective. the calls being discussed in this thread were unusually obvious, copious and mysteriously not called.

i'll say it again, that was probably the 3rd worst officiated game i've seen behind that bungled kickoff in oregon a few years ago and refgate in '06.

quote:

Bottom line is the FACT that the refs had ZERO effect in the outcome of the game
this is completely false and i roll my eyes every time someone says complaining about the refs is for losers.

EVERY MISSED CALL HAS AN EFFECT ON THE GAME. every single one.

I think a big part of the problem with SEC officiating is that the quality of athletes in the SEC is NFL level talent. They're too fast to keep up. The SEC needs to hire better refs.

I couldn't believe Harris wouldn't quick-snap the ball - I was screaming "snap it" over and over. I don't care how young you are in college, the ability to understand and perceive each situation should be an innate process - if a QB is attuned to what's going on around him, he would take it upon himself to audible and quick snap the ball to ensure a second look isn't given to the last play.

Hopefully, Harris will learn from that play and do things differently in the future.

You could see Leonard was adjusting helmet and face mask a lot. They were definitely grabbing at him
