I mean it kind of is.

Played by students against other students

you're getting too technical with semantics.

It's not a "student event" like a picnic or something. It's a university ball game. Students attending that game don't get to do whatever they want. It's not "their" event. It's the university's.

Which would make it a student event

No one is really saying they should be able to do whatever they want. People are saying that it's near impossible to control this, and honestly, it is pretty harmless.

And speaking of getting technical, a university event is pretty damn close to student event. A university is made up of students and it's purpose is to educate the students.

I mean the NCAA claims they exist to serve student athletes. The word student sure appears a lot on their website and in their mission statement.

Seriously? First half: Buddy obviously rattled, only 1 three pointer. Stupid chants started, pissed off Buddy and the whole team, they focused and were pissed off for greatness. He hit 7 threes after that.

You tell me.

Had nothing to do with the fact that Oklahoma executed a couple of double screens on back to back possessions that led to open threes. You don't need to give that guy much room or its curtains.

If F- You chants inspire greatness, a great number of teams would get them from their home crowds.

Since we have some kids are in need of adult supervision, I think we should make them each sit next to their mommies.

That should end the vulgarity.
Nah, they're adults and can say what they want.

He's saying your statement is dumb....which it is, what a surprise.
He said nothing about wanting or not wanting to go the game.

No shite. The context of my disregard and deflection went completely over your head, you dumbass.

Now quit cyberstalking me. What you bring to the table isn't good enough for me to engage in earnest discussion, and I'm in no way interested in any opinion you have or anything you have to say. Please go talk to somebody else, troll.

This a public forum you ignorant prick, so I'd hardly call it cyberstalking. You think too highly of yourself.

Late to this thread, but if I was in the stands with my 5 YO niece or nephew and people were yelling that I'd have a problem.
If you're looking to get a big time crowd other than students, you might have to cull some of this.
PS- I'm ole school.

I promise that your 5 year old niece and nephew will survive some potty mouths.

I've heard curse words at LSU games since I was 5 myself. I'd prefer for our fans not to do it, but giving the students attention, or as some have suggested, punishment only escalates the situation. Youth of all generations like to revolt against authority, as stupid as that may be.

It wasn't really audible from across the arena.

Its real easy to control. Have your coach stop the game, get on the microphone and ask the students or whomever to stop. If it doesn't, have the refs give a technical foul and an automatic 3 points.

How hard is that?

I think the team that is playing their arse off and not doing "F-You" chants would disagree with the automatic 3 points being awarded to the other team.
