Nothing wrong with Sloan,

Again Sloan is not the issue. Should he have been promoted? Probably not but he was not the issue this year. I really don't understand the consistent complaints about Sloan when there were actual glaring issues.

Sloan is 100% to blame. He is responsible for the offense. The great ones know how to scheme to the teams strengths. Hell Kiffin went to the playoff at Bama with a RB at QB.

LSU was still in the top 30 of total offense this year and had a top 5 passing offense in the country which is still pretty good considering what they replaced the year before at the skill positions. The biggest problem this year obviously was the rushing & redzone offense. With Nuss returning I think it doesn’t make sense to give a guy his 4th OC in 5 years.

I agree! And for those who think Sloan is fine, here are very specific counters to that theory:
1) sometimes he gets too cute on his playcalling when the mundane is working fine...1st series in Florida game I have used as one example
2) someone mentioned disasters in the red zone....you know what would help those? Almost every other team in college football has a wildcat package. LSU does not. And LSU has J Johnson for one who would be one of the best ever for that.
3) for some reason, he can't get the play promptly sent in. In one half of one recent game, LSU had to use all 3 timeouts due to that and clearly the plays were not given to Nussmeier in a timely manner
4) unless the LSU WRers refuse to run over the middle, about the only receiver that he calls slant routes for is the TE Taylor...and yes I remember the long slant TD pass to Anderson in the A&M game (an exception)
5) only recently did he understand that the screen pass is not an NCAA prohibited play. Most teams even run shuffle passes/Utah pass play but I have never seen LSU run that play
etc, etc, etc
