For those that are downvoting the OP, the coaching staff has discussed this with Todd. But that would be 2-3 years down the road.

Why do we need harris at LB?

Let the players play their best position, and the cream will rise to the top.
We aren't desperate for bodies at LB like we had been. We just lack experience, which Harris wouldn't bring

If his best position turns out to be LB down the road then by all means put him where he has the best chance to succeed.

You can't play linebacker if your name is Todd.

Well he wouldn't be that rush specialist anyway, though OP just says LB which is why I listed all linebackers.

Also:
+Anderson
+Cherry
+Moore
+potential 18' recruit

Could easily happen, no guarantee, and?

2019 season ILB if white leaves early:
-Divinity SR
-Phillips JR
-Taylor JR
-Queen JR
-Baskerville SO
-Clark SO
-Potential 18' recruit SO
-Potential 19' recruit FR
-Potential 19 recruit FR

So again, why do we need Harris to play LB? I already said if it's his best position then by all means put him there. We signed him as a safety, where scouts have him as one of the best, and his profile has him listed at 6'0 180. even if way off he's nowhere near oversized for safety and we don't "need" him anywhere else.

I did

I wasn't insulting OP. I was listing players showing we don't need to move him for the sake of having another body at LB, and asking why we need him at LB.

Honestly if we are worried about a position of need I'd wonder how he'd do at RB rather than LB. But I'm sure we'll sign some quality RBs this class and not be worried about #s there this time next year

I agree. I think he could be a regular in the secondary by year 2.

Seems people overlook him because of the other highly ranked freshman already on campus, and think he's an extra body to throw at a position where we are thin. The dude weighs 190lbs and was on of the best highschool DBs in the country...

I also don't think we're thin at LB, the talent is just young. So moving an undersized freshman to a new position doesn't help with that anyway.
