I just hate how completely void of cleverness STTDB is.

Both STTDB, and the Oh We Oh variation were mostly single game incidents that didn't become a big deal to the students until someone took them away.

I still think both would have just died out because they weren't that good (just like the one guy who always throws "and beat the shite out out of em" into first down) if they had just been left alone.

This proves that you don't know anything about young people. If there's one thing true about college students, it's that when older people constantly bitch about something they like doing, they collectively respect the wishes of their elders and cease the activity immediately.

Who really has an issue with the Tiger Rag a-hole chant? That is tame by today's standards.

whoever got tired of hearing the a-hole chant in 2004 when the band last played Tiger Rag in D.V.

It's a good idea, but a lot of the students yelling it are the ones who care about getting drunk for the game more than the game itself. Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I think the upper student section starts it and the lower section just says eff it, damage is done.

Also FWIW Mett yells "penis" when you take a shot playing basketball at the UREC. So there's that.

In college you rebel and do things you think are funny even if stupid.that's part of the college experience. Its why in college you may be liberal and when you grow up you take more conserative approach. Letting college kids do stupid things and say no to authority is part of college experience.
The fact that old people dony remember that and lsu won't let college kids be dumb and step on fun is ridiculous

It's funny, college students in the past rebelled against war, civil rights abuses, and other gravitas things. Other people their age are doing things like living real lives, working, paying bills, maybe even fighting/dying in wars.

These fricking bitches are rebelling against not being able to shout STTDB in unison during football games.

frick all those vapid pathetic pieces of shite and anyone who defends them.

There's a very simple solution to this. The band should resume playing all songs, including Neck, Tiger Rag, etc. The stadium camaras are more than capable of zooming in on those who choose to change the lyrics, and can even display them on the video board. The offenders should be removed from the game by officials and possibly banned from future games. Once you begin removing offenders, it will stop. I love the student section. I love the energy that the band and the students can bring to the stadium. But there's a line. Show just a little class. After all, they are in school, maybe they can learn something through this.

I don't care what Mett yells at the UREC.

He's not in front of 90K fans or in front of network cameras and microphones.

You are comparing apples to oranges.

You are not guests. You are students who represent the university. MY university as I am a graduate.
You're representing POORLY at that.

I'm the first to say that any student who wants to go to a game should be able to over and above any other ticket holder. However, you have to earn that privilege. That's correct. It's a privilege and not your right to attend any LSU sporting event.

Keep up the bad behavior and you'll find the admin breaking up the student section and moving some to the upper decks. You can bank on it.

When Sam Montgomery used to tell me to get loud, I would get loud.

So yes. If they got on the screen and told me to do something, I would do it. That's a fact.

Bull-shite. It was "big" the first second whoever the douchebags that started doing it started doing it. If it wasn't, it wouldn't have been big enough to gain notice to take away.

People who have no current, active affiliation with the University have no business telling students how to behave at their event. That is, don't go to someone else's house and tell them they have to take their shoes off.

Those who have no current active affiliation with the University can learn to mind their own business and let the University police itself.

So, because you don't want LSU alumni to make a judgment on how you behave in the student section, you think it's perfectly alright to LOOK, SOUND, ACT, AND COME OFF as middle school school freshmen to the nation and visiting fans?

You are fricking 18-22 year old ADULTS !!!!,
NOT middle school students !
Jesus Christ this is frustrating.

The rest of Tiger Stadium and LSU alumni and fans SHOULD NOT have to make excuses to visiting teams' fans for idiot juvenile students they don't even know !!!!

a) Judge all you want b) for the millionth time, I'm not a student. I'm an alumnus who knows his place.

You're saying this, not me. Don't be a whining liar. I don't care what the students say. It's none of my business.

That's because you're sticking your nose in someone else's business and throwing a tantrum when the rest of the world doesn't make sure you get your way. In other words, the person complaining that college students are acting like middle school students is acting like a child.

So don't.
