After reviewing the 2009 season predictions on the Rant, I am surprised at the number of people predicting that we drop a game against Ole Miss.

Is Ole Miss that good or is this a sign that we are no longer amongst the elite in the league?
Miles is 2-2 in head to Nutt competition, so I can't say that the Nutt is in Miles' head.

Ole Miss is going to be good.

They might have the 2nd best QB in the SEC

LSU does not know what it has at QB and does not know how the defense will respond.
We can be optimistic and assume the defense is only going to get better and cant get worse. We can also assume JJ is that much better than JL.

Would hate to see what happens if under a full season JJ turns out more like Randal than Flynn like some wish he was.

we beat the best team Arkansas has had in a while in 2006. That is one of the more underrated games in LSU history. We beat the #3 team on the road 2 years in a row

I think Ole Miss may be the 2008 Clemson. They won't go 7-5, but Houston Nutt is a much better coach without the bullseye on his back.

Nutt has not been as successful against Chavis as he has been against Pelini/Malveeto.

Houston Nutt is sort of the Dale Brown of football. Can coach the hell out teams with limited talent but seems to have a difficult time dealing with high expectations.

Ole Miss will be great on offense, no doubt, but how well will they be on defense this season after losing some major talent on the DL?

We lost Peria Jerry, that will hurt. But with G.Hardy at full speed and the rest of our D-Line returning it will still be one the top in the SEC.

His last 6 years at Arkansas he had 6 first rounders, 7 second rounders, and 32 drafted in rounds 1 - 7. That's almost 6 per year, excluding free agents.

That isn't "monumental" but is in the top half of the SEC.

Point being:

1)He can recruit. He just goes after too many "diamonds in the rough" and classes drop between 20 and 40. Most do not pan out.

2)Houston doesn't do more with less. That's a bullshite, cliche catchphrase that in no way whatsoever is backed up by statistical evidence. To the contrary, stats show that he takes more and does less.

In his last 6 years he had the the SEC All-Time rushing QB in Matt Jones, a 5,100 APY gentleman by the name of Felix Jones, the SEC's 2nd leading rusher in Darren McFadden, Pro Bowl offensive lineman Shawn Andrews, Rimington Trophy winner Jonathon Luigs, 32 draft picks, 6 first rounders, on and on and on.....

Yet in that time frame he lost to Vandy twice, had an abysmal road record, a losing record to the top 25, a 4 win season, a 5 win season, and went 1-3 in lower tier bowls.

That monkey with a whistle, arse clown, douche face son of a bitch has never done more with less. Ever. He is a mediocre fart in the wind with a resume that reeks of failure.

Jesus Christ give me a god damn asprin.

(And, no, tying the West twice in 11 fricking years, once thanks to a Bama probation, doesn't strike me as amazing.)

Yes

By the way, my problem isn't with you. You are a solid poster.

I just want to take a crap down the throat of your coach whenever I can.
