2 years goes back to 10/24/2011. I believe we were in the top 10 every single week of the entire 2011 season, the entire offseason heading into 2012, in the top 10 the entire 2012 season until we lost the bowl game and then top 10 for most of this season until we lost to Ole Miss. So out of the last 2 years we have been outside of the top 10 for about 4 football weeks. But yeah, we are no longer a top 10 program.
Can't wait to see him try to talk out of this one. I can see it now.

Herp derp. Obviously I was talking about this current year that only half over and not done and 2011 doesn't count because 13 and 12 is 2 years blah blah blah

I don't have to talk my way out of it. It's pretty clear the post he was responding to was referring to this season (2/3rds to 3/4ths way finished) and last season...AS WE WERE NOT a top 10 team last year and aren't this year.
Durrr
His response was retarded

I think he might be holding his own....besides if leaving everytime you got made to look like an arse on this site was standard protocol, you should have closed your account months ago.

Well, perhaps he should just admit when he is wrong. Instead, he chooses to try to talk his way out of everything, then just stops responding when he runs out of possible angles to take.

A. I have a job
B. I'm still here
C. YOU are the one dodging. Is Miles on the same level as Saban? Yes or No?
Posted on 10/24/13 at 4:16 pm to PurpleAndGold86
LnchBox, you are the one trying to make a legitimate case that Miles and LSU are on par with Saban and the AL program. I will spot you that you are influenced by your love for LSU. That's commendable. I love LSU also. If you don't identify problems or grasp reality, you will never be in a position to improve. And would like to see an improvement in the program. I believe that there is a currently a problem.
To the Purple guy, in athletics, it's not how you begin a season, it's how the season ends. That's why they award the crystal ball at the end of the season and not pre or during the schedules. Reality is reality. Last year were were not a top ten team as history reflects and, if we don't win out, we will not finish in the top ten again

No, I'm saying Les Miles at LSU is the closest anyone else is getting to Nick Saban at Alabama. No other program has challenged them year in and year out like we have, and IMO no other program is capable of it. We will never know since unless OSU or some other power with a big name somehow plays in the SEC West anytime soon.
I'm not saying LSU has accomplished as much as UA has on the field. But that is partly because for Bama to do what they've done, we have to lose to them. However, no one else puts up the fight head to head that we do, and Les has DEFINITELY outcoached Saban in some of the games.

I am willing, but I want to know who you think will do better? My opinion is no one has the track record to say they would definitely do better than Miles has.

Can they? Sure. Will they? I highly doubt it. Our defense want be able to stop their offense, and I just don't see our offense putting it together enough to keep up.

Obviously not....I was just agreeing that we finished poorly last year...and things aren't looking real rosy heading into the end of the season. The poster said that we finished out of the top 10 last year and we're out right now....can't argue with that.

Yes...correct...at the end of the season when it counts. Who gives a shite about starting out in the top 10 at the beginning of the season.
You really wish this guy would die? Lighten up francis!

Well that doesn't really go back 2 years then, now does it?

Why? Mett played his worst game, and we still almost won on the road. A&M lost to a team was crushed. Bama is Bama, but we usually play them well. The season is far from over, put your ilk is just ready to give up on it.

No, they said the last two years. Since this season is not over, that means you go back to 2011.

LnchBox, we are approaching common ground. Last year, I was not pleased with our program's results. Miles hired Cameron and the offense improved. Just because some fans are not completely satisfied with the program does not indicate lack of loyalty to LSU, IMO. Yes, in 2011, I believe Saban made some bad decisions which lead to LSU's OT victory. But then you have to concede that our performance by LSU in the NC that year certainly indicated that something was wrong. I don't believe the talent level was that different. It just seems that every year our program has another area that needs improvement. Miles has been here for nine years, right? How long will it take him to right the ship. I don't know that there is anybody that could do a better job at LSU. I do know that LSU pays top dollar for its program. I certainly hope that we don't have to endure three of fours losses a year for too much longer. I am not that young

This is the biggest issue we have IMO. It seems the best we can do is hope to handle business against Bama then make it through the rest of the year. As long as Saban is there, we're never going to have much room for error.
Thanks for being reasonable, unlike some other people in here

No one is giving up...I'd be ecstatic if we ruined Bama's season and won out. But I don't see how any rational fan can look at our effort over the last two weeks and be optimistic. Yes, we beat a pathetic UF squad and thought we had our D problems fixed and then turn around and lose to an outmanned/injury depleted OM...where the D obviously regressed and there were (to coin your favorite word)some instances of retarded/questionable play calling. Check with JH if you doubt this.
If you can give me something to pin my frickin hopes on......pleeeezzz...i'm all ears!!! Do tell!!!
