quote:correct. Miles uses the whole season as strategically possible. I would bet the pitch/handoff will be used as a flea flicker playaction in the future. But these gems are for very special circumstances.
It's all a set up the Hat has going. Lee continues to pitch out on the option until the time is right in the right game and he will take it in for the winning touchdown. Got to look at the big picture.

Lee is much more than just a game manager.

He had an offer from Nebraska out of high school, soooooo?
When Bill Callahan was the coach and the QB wasn't asked to run much

Lee is becoming less of a game manager with each game.
Please explain your reasoning on this. I do not disagree but want to find out if for the same reasons.
he is a throwing QB now. he got to throw on First down, 2nd down and 3rd down in WV game.
except for not 'getting it' that sometimes its better to run for the first down marker, I have no issues with his game.
he is a very good passing QB.

Comments from his HS Scout page...
Lee broke into the starting lineup at Brownwood High operating out of a one-back offense completing 98-of-168 passes for 1,700 yards and 18 touchdowns. Lee also ran some option football finishing with 250 yards and four touchdowns.
He transferred to Brenham as his father, Stephen, took a job on the staff as the wide receiver coach. Last season at Brenham, Lee completed 250-of-350 passes for 3,500 and 40 touchdowns while operating out of a spread offense.
Lee bench presses 245 pounds, squats 400 and has posted a 31-inch vertical jump. He also starts in hoops averaging six points per game.
The guy is a good athlete, he just would rather throw the ball.

Sorry, I don't really care about this thread . . . but I had to jump over and say that this is the absolutely dumbest crap I've read on TD in a long time.

What kind of speed would you like him to have??
Peyton Manning, Drew Breeze, Tom Brady, Joe Montana, Bret Favre, Joe soft shoe, or any of those of this ranking....just askin...

He's got no confidence in his running ability

Hard to get rolling when you got the weight on that back foot.

I suspect that Lee has been told by offensive coaches to tuck and run as an ultimate last resort.
This ... and it's a fact!
Lee must stay healthy for the season for us to have a chance to take the crystal and coaches know this!
Lee has improved his speed and when he does run will be quite a surprise, as his speed increased notably in the offseason!

don't know if you actually meant to respond to me, but my points were a) it's silly to speak of brees and lee in the same sentence and b) brees does not throw off of his back foot. . . in fact, one of his greatest strengths is stepping up into the pocket to throw.

A "designed qb draw'' may be in order against Florida or the Tide, but he must learn to slide. We can't have him wondering off to the wrong sideline after an SEC safety had a 30 yard head start right to his chest. I doubt Miles will even let him sneak the ball on fourth and short because of the possibility of being injured.... Wait a minute, Mett is the back-up, push, push, push!!!!!!
