This.

Including the SECCG in Atlanta, crushing UGA the way they did to us when half our team was in the ER in 2005 in CLM's first year.

He has a good point in regards to Oregon, but in regards to LSU, Alabama, and Oklahoma, we have tougher schedules and get more love in the computers for that reason. We get more love in the human polls because humans watch their shitty play in games against Ole Miss and Vandy.

Memphis Tiger, I have been on this board for about 2 yrs. I have never been into Trash Talking. I was raised in S. Louisiana and really like the Tigers. I remember the Chinese Bandits and 1958. I remember Billy Cannon, Paul Deitzel and Coach Mac, but I am an Arkansas Fan 1st.

I don't give a Rat's behind about the BCS, we had our shot @ Bama. It didn't go so well. I was pulling for LSU and really proud of the Tigers last week for a job well done!

I only care about the game the day after Thanksgiving with LSU. I want us to come to town and play hard, do our best and come out with a win. I want that as any other fan would. It is possible, not probable. I would estimate LSU to be a 10.5 pt favorite for this contest.

Should we win, it would give us an 11-1 Season in the SEC. If we lose, 10-2, not so bad with losses to 2 Exceptional Teams. (These assumptions include wins in our next 2 home games, we could lose 1 who knows?) Arkansas is a Program on the Rise, I am pleased with that. I recognize the Excellence of the LSU Program and this Tiger Team.

Now upon the outcome of the LSU vs Arkansas game, the BCS will make their selection. Either way I am pleased with my team's season and my 2nd team LSU didn't do so bad either...

Good Luck Tigers. Let's play hard and have a clean contest. WPS

you have to have years of success to climb up to an elite program now. if their 8 and 1 this time next year, they'll probably be top 5.

this kind of crap comes up multiple times every year. there is no pleasing everybody. impossible. and anybody can write a "convincing" article because the top 10 is usually very competitive. a playoff is the only way to squalch most of this talk, although please realize that lsu beat alabama and alabama still is the better team.

Vandy almost beat Georgia and Florida at Florida. They are a lot better this season and a very good home team. Even stayed with Bama for 2 1/2 qtrs.

As far as opponents they do. How they have played against inferior competition, they don't.

Arkansas fan-writer doesn't seem to realize that 2/3 of the BCS system are OPINION polls.

Many of the above points are correct.

But considering the whole body of works, this is how I see it.

1. If they would have beaten Bama, they would be ranked in top 5 (above BS). But they didn't.
2. Even if they were left at 7 in the current BCS rankings. It would take more than just beating LSU to get to no. 2, 5 other teams would have to lose between now and the end of the season. How likely is that to happen. Not very.
3. For all the comments about USCe being so highly ranked; "South Carolina was ranked No. 9 in the BCS because of its record, but was largely viewed as a struggling team", Arkansas should look in the mirror and see the same thing with weak wins against weak teams.

Instead of crying, the Pigs should be trying to build credibility like LSU and Bama have done over the years.

This is a better scenario for them: Run the table including beating LSU. Okie State and/or Stanford lose and Bama reaches the BCS NC game. In this case Arkansas can go to the Sugar Bowl for the second time and build from there. Of course this isn't going to happen because LSU is going to hand them their butt on a platter come Nov. 25. At that point TJ Carpenter will have to write about how Arkansas is not championship material.

EDIT: Of course it would mean Bama goes to SEC CG and wins then goes on to BCS NC game. Arkansas would probably be ranked ahead of LSU by virtue of beating them.

I think Oklahoma should be lower. They lost to a 4 td dog at home too? Wasn't it?
