The comments are actually on the Facebook 247 sports Oklahoma page. Let me see if there is a direct link.

The whole article on all of the qbs is on NFL. Com

One executive or scout said Joe is one of his favorite prospects ever. Then another guy said Joe can't throw that great and is only worth a 2nd or 3 round pick. Basically said Joe has to crow hop to throw a 50 yard pass. He said he crow hops deep balls ,I'm assuming a deep ball is about 50 yards in there evaluation.
He talked about not throwing a spiral too

I think he's nuts. The only thing that burrow could possibly have trouble with, Imo,is if he has some bad weather and has to throw a wet ball into the wind.

That's not gonna happen very often, not to mention, a qbs arm can get stronger over time

To say that the man can't throw is extremely baffling to me. Especially when he threw for 60 TDs and close to 77 percent completion. I don't know if you call that not being able to throw the ball. I'm also not sure why they are putting so much emphasis on QBs who can throw the long ball 50 plus yards. How has that really worked out the past decade in terms of super bowl winning QBs?

That guy was the only person that had a negative take. I'll try to find it and post it

The point he was making was,he thinks Joe's arm is below average whereas mostly all good starters in NFL have at least average arms.

I don't agree with him either though.

Like I said, just having small hands and an average arm, could create some issues in that conference.
That's if his arms as weak as the guy said. That's a bad weather division and there aren't any domes either are there?

He's the best in the draft according to 25 or more teams, I bet

Here it is, this was the guy I was talking about. This is as negative as it got. The other guy loved him. This guy didn't hate him, just not as confident he is 1st round worthy.

quote:

Said an NFC coach: "He ends up with a pro coach (Joe Brady) in a really good system with the best players. He's a great processor and he is everything I'd want in a quarterback -- if I took him in the second or third round. He's not a natural thrower, can't really pump it down the field. Now, he can throw it back-shoulder and uncovered and he's got anticipation, but that ball's wobbling. Love him, but I think he's a high-risk guy at 1."

"Uncovered" lol, he must didn't watch LSU this past season. How many "uncovered" throws did Burrow make? Burrow actually threw his receivers open the majority of the time. Beats me lol

Always remember that whatever some NFL scout or exec is saying in the month before the draft is likely to have some disinformation in it to try to convince other teams to act in a way to help themselves.

Now, I don't think he's wrong about Hurts. Jalen is a great college player, but I'm not sure his game translates to the NFL. In that case, a lot of teams "moving him up their board may be an effort to get him drafted earlier and allowing their preferred player to be available.

If you doubt this type of disinformation would work, remember that Johnny Manziel was drafted in the 1st round by the Browns.
