Apparently you do not understand the context of this thread.
The talk is about his father wanting him to be drafted highly among other things.
He was drafted in the 18th last year mostly because of who his father is. He has not added much to his resume since then but is trending upward as of late.
In baseball unlike football most prospects are drafted for the anticipated growth they will have in the minors. They don't have to be prototypical anything yet. But the ones that are drafted higher are usually closer to being the prototypical player at their position.
If the goal was just about being drafted then it doesn't matter. Done! He was already drafted.
The supposed goal is to be drafted highly. Hence my OBSERVATION that he needs to put on weight and return next year and if his current trend continues - he might achieve the goal of being drafted highly.
Unless his father and Cam changes their goal - he will be back next year.

His father is a great mentor and obviously good genetics, but Cam was drafted that high because he has Major League stuff! He is still learning how to polish it up and command it, but 95mph with the hammer he has was much more to do with it than who his daddy is.

He's our 2nd best arm in the pen.
He will be called on in any situation where we are up or down 2 or fewer runs...and not deep enough to hand it to Peterson.

What do you mean drafted that high? He was drafted in the 18th round on the last day of the draft.

He's gone. Mark this post.

He is not going to be drafted high enough and will come back next year. He will be drafted high enough and will not come back next year. Cool. I'm down with that.
