I have been saying this all along.
Call a play... Run the play.
Audibling/ "Check with me" is over done. Most times defenses will fool teams into checking into a bad play (especially if they know that your offensive routine is to check the sideline after setting the offense). So you might as well run what you call. As an offense, there is no way an opponent should know the exact play you are running. Assuming your play sheet has over 100 plays, then their should be less than a 1% chance that the defense actually knows the play you've called.
I was in heaven watching our offense breaking the huddle, and snapping the ball. We still wasted a few drives in the goal-line set, but the pure fact that I didn't see the entire team looking to the sideline with 10 seconds on the play clock, absolutely gave me a positive vibe about keeping Cameron into next season.
The goal-line stuff from the 50 has got to end. The fact that we can go multiple drives or quarters in which we run the exact same play, and my grandmother knows whats coming, is still quite disturbing (Imagine what the guy who gets paid to stop you is thinking, when his teams defense can sell out because whey know whats coming).
If we were even 30% less predictable on offense, we might not ever punt the ball.
If Cam on the sidelines means, we will continue to, Call a play, and running that play, then keep him there forever.
Im also excited to see what Etling can add to this QB competition.

It's a panic move

Solid move that yielded immediate and positive results. A much more composed offense. CC consulting with the HC and congratulating ball players on the sideline: Priceless.

our coaching staff, esp miles and cam seemed to have grown "stale". miles was like some stoic CEO over on the sideline and that was not the way he was when he first arrived.
I think the players play better when the coaches are "into" the game and share game moments face to face. cam needs to stay on the sidelines and miles needs to continue to "be awake" on the sidelines.

Hope they learned something from it and it will be commonplace in 2016. The ability to look a player in the eyes and 'coach' (correct) them during the heat of a game cannot be overstated.
Other than 2 plays that come to mind - both in the 1st half - slamming LF into a 10 man front on 3d down and 4, and then throwing deep and inacurately on another 3d and 2...the play-calling last night was balanced and looked in-synch. Notice we had NO delay of game penalties and we did not have to blow through T/Os to ensure we had the right people on the field. Stay on the field CC! GT!!!

I also noticed him yelling at players pre snap about lining up property. That in itself would be a huge plus based on all the illegal formation.penalties this year

Agreed !!! Will be interesting to see if he starts on the sideline next year!!

He was on the field as OC for Baltimore. This was a welcomed change.
He was also fired there, during a super bowl run

With the exception of maybe one year in San Diego he's always been on the field.

Cam must try to find the ugliest hat to wear on the coaching staff.

Bama's been doing this with Kiffin for a few years. Hard to argue with the results.

Bout time....only took how many years to do it? CCC needs to keep his azz on the sidelines instead of sitting high up on his perch fapping while the offense stumbles around.

Can we get someone to go change the locks on the his sky box?

Meh. Only three years. Lol

even better, it looked like they took Les' play list away from him and gave it to Cam
Posted on 12/30/15 at 9:07 am to Gevans17
Yeah, the offense looked so different with "Miles" not calling the plays.

As previously noted, CLM wanted Cam on the sidelines earlier this year but Cam himself nixed it due to his health issues. This per a direct quote from CLM in The Advocate this morning. Harris asked him for this as well though it was not specified as to when Harris asked for it.
