We know nothing about the offense, considering the O line was jacked up and nobody goes all out in a spring game, HOWEVER..

Considering this roster and our DC.. Name a team besides Auburn on our schedule with an offense capable of scoring over 28 points on us.

With this, we do not need to put on an offensive showcase. It would be nice, yes.

And im not even ruling it out, because it seems ensminger has put his forte position (TE) to use. These dudes know what theyre doing.

McMillan wont be a game changer..more of a manager. But with this defense, a methodical approach with more passing with tight ends and short passes to ease up the running game will work wonders. 10 wins this season.

Book it.

that's one hell of a statement. That 2011 defense was insanely good. Arguably the best in LSU history along with 2003 IMO. I think they will be very good but to compare them to 2011 isn't really fair to them.

The front seven could be as good as 2011, but the secondary is not in the same class.

Alabama, UGA, MSU, Ole Miss, Miami, Texas A&M...

I just named 6 beyond Auburn...and didn’t even include Miami.

I like it! However, Miami, UGA, Bama (QB), A&M all can easily score 28pts on LSU. Fact is,we know NOTHING about this Team. Nothing.

Defensive line - even
Linebackers - easily 2018 squad
Secondary - easily 2011 squad

Defensive coordinator - 2018 squad

One thing that is often overlooked is how good the 2011 special teams units were. That helped the defense and the team by putting us in great position to succeed.

let the season play out before you say that. The d line in 11 was nasty with mingo, logan, brockers and Montgomery.

Your thread title as entirely too early and unrealistic. You cannot predict that kind of performance before the year. Will they be good? Yes. How good? We will see. I don’t think this team will be as flashy as the 2011 defense. Honestly it looks more like a prototypical Saban at Alabama defense with an exceptionally stout front seven and what could be smothering secondary.

I’m not expecting strip fumbles for tds or loads of picks but rather a suffocating type where it is just a chore to move the ball against.

Either way I’m hoping for a great season just not willing to say 2011 yet

2018’s defense will not have 2011 offense to compliment them and let the D dominate.
That offense with Lee was very good. Defense was rested and could pin their ears back because they were always up 14 or more. This D will be good but let’s hold off on one of the better Defenses of all time.

Ill wait until they play a game and see if there is one. I won't crown any unit without watching them play first.

You can't be serious. 2011 had several NFL lineman. Even as backups. Now we have like 2.
