Byrd has the makings of a future T. Owens. Bounce from team to team always blaming someone else for his problems. I know we did not have an experienced QB last year but his season long attitude was piss poor. If he wants to balme someone he should give the qb at Jacksonville state a call and layoff the freshman at LSU.

i have to agree with byrdman on this one... i mean the fact is that most of the season he absolutely did not have a qb that could get him the ball.... also for the people that say oh well brandon lafell had catches... thats because lee would lock into lafell almost every play and was incapable of checking off his number one target.

Then Byrd should have been the bigger man and not thrown a former teammate under the bus. But who would expect anything better from him? He gave up last season and personally, I'm glad he's gone.

Hell, Lee cost him big bucks. I don't have any problem with what he was saying. Look at what he did with just an above average QB in Flynn.
I guess all those balls falling out his hands has nothing to do with his stock. If he can not catch them at LSU he certainly wont make the grabs in the NFL, Lord knows the DB's at that level are more fierce than what he saw in the college ranks.

its easy for you to say he shouldnt have done it... what if you had millions of dollars at stake? heck most of us have thrown JL under the bus.. he actually has millions of dollars at stake here... and whether you like it or not.. its the truth

There's a lot of things that are the truth that aren't, and shouldn't be said. And yeah, there are a lot of dumb arse, ignorant "fans" on here who blast JL every chance possible, but that doesn't mean it's right or acceptable, and it certainly doesn't mean that a former starting WR on the team should say it. Players with attitudes like his are lockerroom cancers that do nothing more than destroy the support and chemistry needed to field a consistent team.

Lets give him a few years in the NFL, and then lets do some talking.
That statement right their kinda shows you what went on inside the huddle last year. Theres no I in team.
Obviously a team player.

D-Byrd is freakin chiseled. hope he gets on a team and does well on sundays. not for the man, LSU would not have gotten that 2nd crystal ball.

Yep, everyone forgets that he played all 22 positions on the 2007 team, with no substitutions. A truly amazing feat!

If I were a scout watching film and saw this fool yelling at the coaches on the sideline (while on the field), I would laugh, stop the tape, and request to see film on the next prospect. Byrd is a jackass. The NFL people know what the hell was going on at LSU with the QB situation. Byrd was too dumb to know that every single thing he did on and off the field would be under a microscope.

Byrd made an arse out of himself and is only trying to right the situation now because of a potential paycheck. I hope he's catching balls in Canada next year. Les Miles should have broken his foot off in his arse when he yelled at the coaches on the sidelines.

I'm guessing maturity and character are meaningless to you.

Teams looking to draft him understand LSU didn't have good QB play last year. He doesn't need to point this out to them, unless he thinks they are too stupid to figure it out.

Such public comments reflects poorly on him. A sign of immaturity that some teams may pick up on.

He was our best WR with Flynn, so I can agree with his feelings about last year. Byrd might be the steal of the draft.

RP
D-Byrd
JR(some LSU fans resent JR for not getting LSU a title)

How does publicly saying it help him?

Really, T.O. That's how you see him. Byrd isn't certifiably insane. He's just being seen as your typical WR diva.

The second he makes the big play in a big game, ya'll will all love him and claim him again.

You would, huh?

If you were a scout, you would report on his abilties as well as his attitude problem...that way you'd get to keep your job.

It wasn't a terrible pass for a good receiver. Clayton would have made that catch 90% of the time.

maybe, but it was still a terrible pass and a dumb throw
