What about Wright and Joseph blocking? Joseph is listed as a WR now even though he is more like a smaller TE in my eyes.
Nothing screams screen like having TEs split out.

Very true but Joseph is listed as a WR now. So I mean they would know something was up. Sadly the two biggest WR as far as height and weight are TT and RR. With some coaching they could get some blocking done. I mean with shep's speed a chip block could give him the seem to break a big play.

The only way this play works is if the QB properly leads the receiver. If he has to stop, jump, turn around or otherwise break his stride it becomes a negative play.
This. It's one of the more difficult plays for a QB. As we all know, we have sesame street QB.'s

musick, that is not a bubble screen.....

What happened to a shuffle pass
That's a safe pass that Jefferson could execute to give him some confidence

QB that can properly throw a screen
One of my biggest issues with the offense. this leaves a lot of offense off the scoreboard, and allows the opponents defense to defend us more easily

What IS the easiest pass a qb can throw? Maybe we should try throwing to tight end...what happened to THAT?

Or the simple flare and circle routes. Just move the chains at this point.

Agreed. We need some power sets with two tight ends. I think part of the problem is that we have such a great corps of wideouts, the coaches are reluctant to go power sets.

We had Dickson last yr and he was practically invisible to JJ. Boggles my mind why he didn't use him more.

We ran it once against MSU. It got knocked down at the line.
It was open, too! We'll be seeing that again.

Bubble screens work better when the corners play off the line guarding againt the deep routes, since we don't throw deep routes......

A multitude of reasons:
1. It worked. Ask Charles Scott what happens when you run for <100 yard in the first half of a game.
2. Receivers do not block well downfield.
3. Apparently Jefferson can not throw that pass-- ask Ridley what happens when your are standing on your tip toes and stretched out to catch a bullit pass with the defender zero'd in on your stomach.

Damn man, you are Johnny on the spot with this topic. We ran it once against MSU, but I haven't seen us run that since 2006.
