Putting all the science aside, for and against your position, I believe that there is a contractural agreement making us a tiger sanctuary. Taking him on the field violates the agreement and essentially ensures that we will never get another live tiger.

Yes, I agree that it was a great tradition, but this topic needs to die. It aint gonna happen. Move on.

So no one had common sense for the previous 75 years or whatever? I don’t recall any previous tigers having problems with PTSD.

Show the data that it didn’t have an impact on the tigers health. You can’t, because there is none. Take a ride to Audubon zoo and let’s shoot some fireworks off next to the tigers. Let’s see how that plays out. And yes, things fricking change over 75 years, deal with it.

Look, I agree Mike is never coming back to the games. But to act like what you’re saying here is a fact annoys the hell out of me. Exactly what studies have shown that exposure to crowds or loud noises 7 times a year is bad for tigers? Stressful? It’s not like the jungle tigers evolved in was a low stress environment.
I had to login to downvote and comment on this bafoonery. This is a really ignorant post.

PETA has nothing to do with why Mike isn't in the stadium.

And they are correct.

There is no point of putting a living creature under that stressful environment just to appease a couple of uneducated yokels who “thinks it’s cool”.

Survey says ‘we prefer firecrackers’

That is what started it and now there’s no going back.

Poor Mike, I bet he’d love to go out there. Depriving him of fun.

LSU has had a veterinary medicine department for 100 years. Did the science change 15 years ago?

100 years ago, everybody KNEW hunting for ivory was no big thing.

15 years ago, everybody KNEW that tigers could be carted around a football field.

And 15 minutes ago, everybody knew keeping tigers on campus wasn’t an issue.

Imagine what you’ll KNOW tomorrow…
