I was at that game in the south end zone. It was special and intense. It felt like the first home game in years because we regained out white jersey mojo. LSU just did not seem like LSU with those shitty purple jerseys. Give DiNardo credit for appreciating the significance of that and getting it corrected. It was a BIG deal.....and Auburn was truly butthurt after that game....remember seeing some at a restaurant on the way back to new orleans. They were not happy because we had just ruined their season....

Agree, that is one of my favorite LSU games of all time, and my first as an LSU student. However, away from the football field, Troy Twilley is kind of douche.
My friends and I played in an intramural basketball league at the Rec Center and played against Twilley's team. We're far from athletes who take basketball too seriously (our team was called "Slow, dumb white kids") and Twilley guarded a friend of mine, who had a slight receding hairline. The whole game, Twilley kept calling him an old man and talked nonstop trash. My friend had never even played on an organized basketball team and admittedly sucked. Anyways, I'm glad he made the interception vs Auburn, but I don't wish the guy well.

I was in the student section for that game and I'm pretty sure I remember reading in The Advocate that some kids were the ones who blew a whistle.

My sophomore year. My parents were at this game which was the first time they'd been to an SEC game at TS. I remember how intense this game was. My mom clapped so hard, she bruised the inside of her hands. My parents were hooked on LSU football from that point on and went back to Dallas telling everyone how much better games are in BR than in Austin.
After watching the replay, I forgot the fact that the game wasn't near as close as the score.

Pretty sure jamie howard got carried off the field on players' shoulders after the game.
His comments were mainly to thank the team, particularly the defense. He said, and I'll paraphrase so I don't misquote him:
I didn't do anything special tonight - I just didn't throw 3 interceptions that were returned for touchdowns.
Wherever he is - even though he's forever associated (negatively) with Auburn's great comeback in 1994, I hope he takes solace in that, in his last game against them, he redeemed himself the way that warriors do.

I always liked Jamie Howard. He bled purple and gold and came from my hometown and my high school. It was his bad luck to play for one of the worst and least intelligent college coaches in history--hallman the curley--who I am told could not write a coherent paragraph.

This game was one of my first memories at an LSU game - I was 10. Watched it from the old West Upper and was hooked for life. Great memory. I can't describe how excited I was for the first Indy Bowl DiNardo got us to

This was the best football game I ever attended, anywhere. Magical!
