Can’t believe he went on vacation but he probably did.

Because of his age, is it possible he had a medical procedure?

May all be true.

But what’s definitely true - difficulty level for achieving 10 win seasons at Cinn & ND not nearly same task as in the SEC.

That was one of the biggest questions people had with CBK. You really only had to coach up or out scheme 3 or 4 teams a year on Notre Dame's schedule. You have double-digit teams to worry about in the SEC. Plus all the other demands off the field. That's why TPTB want someone with an NFL pedigree. But the two guys they could try and get have their teams headed to the playoffs and would be available until after the NFL season ends.

I think more better qualified candidates will be available after the 2026 season. I'm afraid LSU fans will just have to bite the bullet until then.

OP's point is basically don't fire Kelly this year since the schedule next year is brutal and we don't want to subject a new coach to that schedule in his inaugural season

I mean why not, may as well let the rant start chewing up the next coach in his first season. We all know its coming, this fanbase is never satisfied.

I mean half the fanbase wants a coach that never coached a day out of the NFL who isnt much younger than Kelly but they whine because Kelly is too old.

The other half wants the younger version of Kelly who hasn't won shite anywhere, but hey atleast his offense is exciting until he drops 2-3 games in his unique fashion yearly.

Dont matter which candidates are available when, LSU fans are gonna have to deal with BK for next season and very likely the one after that too.

This has nothing to do with my post.

OP's opine was don't fire Kelly because next coach has a tough schedule next season.

That's all I said. Holy shite.

You’re right. He will be gone after the Okla game.

Agree, he's not going anywhere. Where are the better options that are willing to come here? Some y'all need to get a handle on your expectations. Realistically, there are 4-5 college football coaches on the planet that can win a title. We won't always have one. That's okay! I am enjoying watching #13 and #4 in the yella jersey mane.

And I've seen no one on this board pointing out an obvious; this was the worst possible week for #40 to be out. Really hurt.

Yes let’s stick with Kelly and just be stuck in the 8-4 chokehold for years and years to come

I mean if y’all really dont care about ever contending for anything for a long time then yes by all means just settle and keep BK.

8-4 would probably suck a whole lot less if the games were at least interesting to watch. I mean, Charlie Mac produced records like that for years, but his teams were certainly never boring to watch.

Watching Kelly’s teams have become like mowing grass or washing dishes or taking out the trash: a chore. There’s no joy in it.

BK has become Les Miles 2.0 meaning he wants to keep the game close with defense and hope he has the ball last in a close game

We are two years removed from BK producing an offense with a Heisman winning QB and having two WRs drafted in the first round.

If you honestly think this you clueless about college football. There’s a 0% chance he’s fired this season
